Melcon POV

The moment I opened my eyes I couldn't help the breath of air that escaped me.

I stared up at an ordinate ceiling, taking in every detail. I moved my head slightly to see the rest of the room.

It was lavish but it wasn't overly done. There were other beds lined up beside me. What did that mean again. Oh yes that's right a medical wing, I must be in a medical wing.

I moved my body so my legs dangled over the side of the bed. There was no one in the room. Curios I stood on shaky legs and reached for a shawl that laid on the table next to me.

I gently wrapped it around myself and made my way towards the door. I gently pushed it open not wanting to make a lot of noise. The moment the door opened I was assaulted by a bright light.

Moving my hand in front of my face I stepped out of the room. I could only gasp at the sight before me. It was absolutely beautiful.

I had never seen anything like it. I continued on my way not noticing the figures watching me from a distance.

I continued on my way walking slowly to take everything in. it was then that I noticed a tall figure standing guard in front of a door.

The guard turned towards me about to walk forward when a voice spoke behind me. "Please do not stray to far from the Halls of Healing, we would not want anything bad to happen to you."

I turned and faced the man and almost gasped again. He was regal and stunning, but yet he had a strong presence that required all to pay notice.

The man had long blond hair and piercing blue eyes. He held out a hand to me and I took it cautiously not sure if I could trust the man.

He took my hand gently and I couldn't help a shiver that passed through my body. His hand was warm to the touch and I could only stare at our joined hands. The man gave a small smile and led me back to the Halls of Healing as he called it.

Once back inside the man led me back towards my bed. I sat down not sure what to say.

We stared at each other for a few seconds and I couldn't help the blush that painted itself on my face. "What is your name?" the man asked.

"Melcondomien, but I go my Melcon. What of your name?" The man looked shocked for a second like the answer should be obvious.

"I am sorry sir, should I be aware of who you are. You see I cannot really remember anything from when I was found." The man nodded his head in understanding.

"I am Thranduil King of the Mirkwood forest." I was shocked to hear that. I was in the presence of a king. "My lord I am sorry to have bothered you." I said bowing my head slightly. Thranduil shook his head

"You are no bother to me" I blushed at the comment and shied away a little. "Dinner is almost ready, would you like me to bring you something here or would you like to accompany me to the meal Hall?"

"No your highness, I would never ask you to do such things for me. I could always get food on my own."

I don't know why I kept insisting that I didn't want this man to do anything for me. Maybe I thought it would come back to haunt me and he would want something in return.

"I am offering this to you, no other has had that opportunity I would suggest you take it."

You could tell the king was saying it as more a command, but his voice was still gentle as could be. "Thank you your highness I-I would be happy to accompany you to dinner."

Thranduil smiled and held out his hand to me again. I took it and was led out the room towards the meal hall.
