"Legolas, I don't understand why he being so nice to me" Legolas chuckled lightly. "I am shocked you have not figured it out, but with your memory loss I can understand."

That did not answer my question. "So I should understand what he is speaking of" Legolas nodded in a way. It is not that hard to see." ok, but what was I not seeing.

"Thank You for listening to me Legolas, I'm sure you had other things you wanted to do instead of listing to me." "On the contrary, I enjoyed it very much." I smiled happily he was not upset with me.

"I guess I'll see you at dinner," I said as I turned and made my way towards my room. I was happy to have my own room instead of staying in the Halls of healing.

The other day I was brought newly made clothes and accessories courtesy of His Majesty of course. It was not long after these thoughts came through my head when there was a commotion in the hall.

Curious I exited the room to see a few elves running down the hall, dressed in fighting clothes. I ran after not sure of what to do.

A guard spotted me and made his way over. "Mel-Sir please head back to your quarters, there is a situation but it is being handled."

"I want to know what is going on" I said not moving from my spot. The guard was about to speak again when Legolas came over to us.

"Please Melcon, I will come to get you later."

I didn't want to but I bowed my head slightly, causing the two to frown. "I'll see you later" I said walking back in the direction of my room, but once the two had faced away I quickly made my way towards the throne area.

I waited for a few minutes before a short man was brought in before the king. The man looked familiar as if I had seen him before.

Then suddenly I saw myself talking to a short bearded man much like him. It was a memory, the man in front of me was a dwarf.

I was so shocked that I nearly fell over. The two turned towards me and I couldn't help but blush. Oh my, I interrupted the king. I was practically spying on them.

There is no way he will let me get away with this. I could see the king's shoulders tense up, but he didn't say anything.

The dwarf, however, looked at me in almost a pleasant way. I could see a smirk like grin grace his face. I felt uncomfortable with the look and turned my head away.

"I'm sorry for interrupting your Highness, I'll be on my way." I turned and practically ran out of the room.

....Later that Night....

I was walking past my door, a book in hand when I noticed a letter had been slipped under the door. Curiously I picked it up. I layed the book down and made my way towards my bed.

It was from the king, but why would he want to see me. Maybe it had something to do with what Legolas said.

These thoughts ran through my mind as I walked down the silent halls. I made my way to an illuminated hall. The light of the moon shone beautifully through the trees.

I brought a strange tranquility to the atmosphere. I made my way towards the railing and leaned my weight against it, soaking up the light. "Are you enjoying yourself?"

Someone asked and I couldn't help but jump slightly. "Sorry," Thranduil said as he made his way beside me. He was dressed in less formal clothes, instead of his fine robes. "No I'm sorry, I was supposed to meet you and I got distracted."

Thranduil chuckled "It is no bother. Melcon, would you like to stay here?"

I thought about it "Well sir, to be honest, I don't know where else to go. I do believe that my memory is coming back slightly, though I can not explain it." "You are always welcome here, I hope you will consider this place a home"

"Thank you for your kindness"

The nightly meetings had become quite a common thing. It would not be uncommon to spot Melcon and The king taking a walk together and rumors quickly spread. They weren't unnoticed by Melcon and Thranduil.

Attempting to stop people from gossiping was proving to be a challenge. It was also noticed that Melcon was sitting next to the king during meals and was never far away.

Many people knew of Melcon's memory loss and thought him ignorant of everything the king was doing, however, that was not the case.

Melcon knew the king was interested but did not believe himself to be worthy of such affection. That was however until someone else came along and who sought the king's affection.
