Melcon POV

It was strange sitting next to the king at Dinner. Many of the people there looked upon me with jealousy or curiosity.

I notice that all the people there looked similar to me. They all had long hair, most of them straight but every now and then you would see someone with wavy hair.

Their ears were long an pointed much like mine, but mine seemed to be a little shorter. I wonder why that was?

The food that was served was quite delicious, I didn't know how hungry I was until I had smelled it.

Sitting on the opposite side of Thranduil was another blond who looked almost Identical to the king. Where they brothers?

Thranduil must have seen me staring at the young man because he introduced me.

"Melcon this is my son Legolas" we nodded to each other I could help but feel almost protective of the young man. I didn't know how old he was or how old I was for a matter of fact, but the feeling remained.

"It is wonderful to meet you legolas, I am Melcondomien but of course you may call me Melcon." Legolas nodded "Thank you."

I smiled and went back to my food. As the night wore on I was introduced to many of the people there.

I smiled politely to everyone, not wanting to be rude. "So Melcon, where are you from? I have been to Rivendell but have not seen an elf such as yourself."

A man close to me asked. I looked away not knowing what to say. I had no idea what Rivendell was. But luckily I was saved.

"He is not from around here, you would not have seen him anywhere." The King said in a stern voice, obviously the conversation was over.

As the meal finished I was lead back to the Halls of healing. Hand in hand with Thranduil. I had so many questions, I was hoping he would give me the time to ask.

The moment I sat on the bed I couldn't help the question that sprang forth from my mouth. "That man at dinner he called me an Elf.

Is that what I am?" Thranduil gave a shocked look. "Yes that is our race. We are wood elves of the woodland realm." I nodded my head in understanding.

"Everything is so beautiful here, your people they look more beautiful than me. How can it be so that I am one of you?" The king brought a hand up and lightly stroked my cheek.

"Never put yourself down, I will not hear it. You are even more beautiful than everyone out there tonight." I blushed crimson as wine.

"And I could say the same about you, your beauty that is."

"Thank you, your words mean so much to me"

When the king left I was lost in a daze of sweet words and promises of tomorrow.
