Caleb's POV
Y/N and I met while working on the drilling rig. After her first week, I asked her on a date and we've been dating since. It's been the best year and a half of my life.
Seeing her at work makes getting dirty worth it. What she didn't know was that all the money I was earning, I was putting into savings so her and I can start a life together soon.
The minute the rig exploded all I could think about was finding Y/N. I looked around at the destruction, trying to calm my breathing.
"Caleb!" I jumped when Anthony grabbed my shoulders. "Kid, we gotta go!" He grabbed my arm and started to pull me away.
"No!" I yelled, yanking my arm out of his grasp. "I have to find Y/N."
"Caleb, Y/N is a smart girl. She knows to head to the life boats. I'm sure she'll already be there by the time we get there. But we gotta go."
I opened and closed my mouth, knowing he was right, but not wanting to risk Y/N getting hurt. "Look," Anthony sighed. "I know how much you love Y/N, but you need to trust that she can take care of herself. You know that every man on this rig would stop and help her. Even if it meant risking their own life to save hers. You can help her by getting yourself to safety where she will mostly likely already be."

Getting to the lifeboats was kind of a blur. All I could do was pray that Y/N was already safe. When we got to the lifeboats, I searched the crowd. The longer it took me to find her, the more nervous I got.
"Come on, Y/N. Where are you baby?" I mumbled.
"Alright!" Mike yelled, getting our attention. I watched as he scanned the crowd. "A ship will be here by morning, until then we need to get on the lifeboats and row away from the rig incase in explodes, but we need to stay together."
I held my breath as he looked down at this clipboard. "So it looks like everyone is accounted for," Mike mumbled as he went scanned his clipboard. "Everyone except for. . . Y/N."
My heart dropped.
Everyone looked towards me with sympathetic looks. I didn't say anything. Instead I took off towards her lab. Y/N is the analytics specialist, meaning she runs test on what goes in and what comes out of the drill.
"Caleb," Jimmy called out as he caught my wrist when I ran by him. "You can't," he whispered.
"I have to find her, Jimmy. I can't. . . I can't just leave her. She could be hurt. I can't lose her."
"What if she's not hurt? What if. . . What if she isn't alive?" Vildrine sighed. "You can't risk your life for someone who may already be dead."
"I'm not leaving her."
"Caleb," Mike started.
"Go. You guys head to the lifeboats. If I'm not back with Y/N in a twenty minutes, you leave." I didn't wait for them to agree before running towards Y/N's lab.
I ran through the ship, calling out her name. When I got to her lab, I noticed the door cracked open. I tried to open it, but something was blocking the door. "Y/N!" I yelled through the crack.
I heard a soft whimper. "Caleb?"
"Y/N! Its me, baby. I'm here," I said as I pushed on the door as hard as I could.
"Caleb," she gasped. "Please. I'm. . . I'm stuck. Something is on top of me and. . . I can't move. . . Caleb." I bit my lip when I heard her start to cry.
"Listen to me, Y/N. I'm right here. Just hang on, baby." I gathered all my strength and threw myself against the door. It took a few times before I opened it enough I could squeeze through.
"Y/N! Where are you, baby?"
"Over here," she said, weakly. I ran towards her voice and froze when I noticed a piece of the piping from the ceiling on top of her. "Caleb," she sighed, smiling weakly.
"I'm here, baby. I'm here." I said gently brushing a piece of hair behind her ear. "You're going to be okay," I whispered. "I'm going to get you out of here."
I reached down to get a good grip on the pipe. I took a deep breath before lifting it up. I heard her let out painful gasps as she slowly slid out. When she was out and safe, I slowly lowered the pipe back down.
I ran over and knelt in front of her. "Y/N," I said softly, taking her in my arms. "You're okay." I let out a sigh of relief as I felt her grip the front of my jumpsuit. I leaned down and tilted her head back before pressing a kiss to her lips.
I felt her smile into the kiss before pulling away. "I knew you'd find me."
"Come on," I said, standing up with her in my arms. "Let's get you home."
