It was the first day of filming and I was currently in the makeup trailer, setting up when the door swung open.
"Y/N?" I turned around to see one of the new interns, Alicia. She was crying as she ran up to me.
"I can't do this! I can't put professional makeup on professional actors! I mean, I get my makeup from Target! What was I thinking?"
She kept rambling as the door opened again. I looked over to see Dylan walking in. He looked at Alicia with a confused look on his face.
I turned back to her and gently put my hands on her shoulders. "Alicia, honey, I need you to breathe."
"I can't do this," she whispered.
"Alicia, breathe with me. I want you to breathe for ten seconds, hold it for five and then slowly release it for another ten."
"What?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.
"It slows your breathing. Do it with me." I slowly started to breathe, her following me. After breathing like that for a little bit, she finally calmed down.
"Thanks, Y/N." She smiled.
"Anytime," I nodded as she turned on her heel and left. I looked over at Dylan, remembering he was here.
"Pretty impressive," he laughed.
"Thanks," I said turning back towards the table and getting the needed makeup.
"Ummm," he cleared his throat making me look up at his reflection in the mirror. "They told me to have you enhance my veins? I have no idea what that means." He said, clearly confused.
"Well, good thing I do," I said with a small laugh. "Go ahead and sit down."
He nodded as he sat down in the makeup chair behind me. I grabbed a brush and turned back towards him.
"I umm. . . I'm going to need you to take off your shirt." I said, feeling the red creep up to my cheeks. He nodded and pulled his shirt over his head like it was normal.
I stepped forward and gently turned his head so I could see the veins on his neck. I reached up and followed his major vein with my finger, making him jump slightly.
"Sorry," he laughed. "That tickled."
We didn't talk as I started making his veins stand out. The only sound that could be heard was the faint sound of the music playing from my speaker.
After doing his makeup for about fifteen minutes, I was finally done. I turned around and saw Dylan watching me from the corner of my eye.
"Am I done?" He asked.
"Yep," I said popping the 'p'. "You're all set."
I took in a breath when he walked up next to me to look in the mirror and his arm brushed mine. I blushed and turned away when I noticed he still hadn't put his shirt back on.
"This looks awesome, Y/N/N."
My eyes watered when he called me the nickname he used to call me. The name I haven't heard in a long time.
"I haven't heard you call me that in over five years," I said under my breath. I bit my lip as I stopped cleaning the brushes. I gasped when Dylan reached over and slowly took the brushes out of my hands, placed them back on the table, and turned me around.
I looked down, trying to avoid eye contact so he wouldn't see the tears in my eyes. I held my breath as he reached up and used his pointer finger to slowly lift my chin. I saw his expression change when he noticed the tears.
