Stiles's POV
My heart pounded after watching my best friend almost kill himself. "What the hell is going on?" I mumbled under my breath looking over at Lydia as Allison walked Scott back to our room.
"It's almost like the full-moon is causing all the werewolves to act crazy," she sighed, running her hand through her hair. "Issac, Boyd, Ethan, all tried to kill themselves, haunted by some memory. Even Scott almost. . ."
"Wait," I said my heart dropping into the pit of my stomach. "Someone is missing from that list."
Without another word, we turned on our heels and instantly ran to Y/N's room. When we got there, I pounded on the door.
"Y/N!" Lydia yelled as I continued to knock.
"Y/N, open up!" I stopped knocking and could hear the faint sound of sobbing. "Y/N please," my voice broke. I bit my lip, determined to get to Y/N.
"Back up," I said as I took a few steps back. I rolled my shoulders before kicking the door. I let out an annoyed grunt when it didn't open. I took a deep breath before using all of my strength to kick the door again.
This time it swung open, causing me to instantly run in. I froze, Lydia almost bumping into me, when I saw Y/N holding a small hand-held gun in her hand. There were empty bullet shells on the ground next to purple flowers. My eyes widened when I realized what she had done.
She filled the bullets with Wolfsbane.
"Y/N," Lydia gasped. "Don't do this."
I took a hesitant step towards her, eyeing the gun in her hand. I noticed the glossy look in her eyes as she stared at the wall, not acknowledging that we were in the room.
"I can't do this anymore," she said, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I'm not. . . I can't. . ." She lifted the gun to her head, her hand shaking.
"Y/N!" I yelled, slightly causing her to look at me, her eyes clearing up a little as she lowered the gun. "Please," I stuttered. "Don't do this."
"I'm sorry, Stiles, but it's all just too much. Our friends are dying. I should have died. Why am I still alive while all of our friends are dead? I'm not. . . I don't deserve to be. It's all just too much."
"Y/N, please. This is just the full-moon talking." I said, taking another hesitant step towards her.
"No it's not," she said shaking her head as tears continued to stream down her cheeks. "I've thought this since. . ." Her voice broke as she chocked back a sob. Her eyes glossed over again as she looked away from us and back at the wall.
"You should tell her," Lydia whispered to me. I looked at her confused. "How you feel," she clarified.
I looked back at Y/N, my breath getting caught in my throat as she lifted the gun to her head. "Y/N," Lydia's voice broke. "Please don't do this."
"Why?" She scoffed, tears streaming down her cheeks. "It's not like anyone would miss me."
"That's not true," I said, my voice breaking. "We would all miss you, Y/N. I . . . I would lose my mind if anything happened to you. So please, put the gun down."
"Why?" Her voice broke. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Lydia glance at me. "Why would you lose your mind? Why shouldn't I just give up?"
"Because," I stuttered as I took a hesitant step towards her. "Because I've known you forever. We were raised together, Y/N. You, me, and Scott. I would never forgive myself if anything happened to you."
"I don't. . . I don't understand why you care so much about me. I'm not worth it."
"Yes you are," I said, taking a step towards her. "You're worth more to me than you will ever understand, Y/N. Because the truth is. . . The truth is, Y/N, that I. . . The truth. . ."
"Stiles," Lydia whispered as I eyed the gun in Y/N's hand. "Just say it, Stiles."
"I'm in love with you." Her head snapped towards me, her eyes wide, as the words I've wanted to say for so long left my mouth.
"With me?" She asked slowly.
"Yes," I said with a soft laugh as I took another step towards her. "I'm in love with you, Y/N. If anything happened to you," I said, my voice breaking.
I waited for her to say anything, but she just stared at me. I took another step towards her until I was standing right in front of her. I slowly reached up and grabbed the gun from her hand, tossing it on the bed.
The second the gun fell on the bed, Lydia and I let out relieved sighs. I studied Y/N's eyes to see she was still in the trance. "Lydia," I said my voice breaking as I didn't take my eyes off of Y/N. "Grab me a match."
My breathing matched Y/N's as Lydia quickly ran to get a match. "Why a match?" She asked softly.
"Fire will help you snap out of this weird trance this place put all of you in." I bit my lip when I saw a second of fear cross her face. "It's okay," I added quickly. "It'll just sting a little."
She nodded as we heard Lydia walk back into the room. I looked over my shoulder, finally looking away from Y/N, and grabbed the matches from Lydia. I looked back at Y/N to see her holding her breath.
"It's going to be okay," I whispered as I grabbed one out of the box. I bit my lip when she reached her hand out for me to do it. I took a deep breath before lighting the match. I looked up at Y/N and hesitated.
"Do it," she said, sending me a small nod. I hesitated before grabbing her wrist and bringing the match close to her. I sucked in a breath as the flames licked the top of her hand, making her bite her lip, trying not to call out in pain.
The second her eyes cleared, I blew out the match, threw it to the side and pulled her into my chest. "I'm sorry," I whispered as I ran my hand through her hair. "I'm so sorry, Y/N."
"It's okay," she said softly as I could feel her tears falling onto the front of my shirt.
We pulled apart and I looked down at her. I reached up and slowly tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. It felt like time froze as I slowly leaned down. My breath got caught in my throat as I felt my lips press against hers.
Our lips instantly started to move in sync as I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer. I smiled into the kiss as her arms slowly snaked around my neck.
We pulled apart, breathless. I pressed my forehead to hers as we both caught our breaths. "Y/N," I said softly.
I leaned back and the second our eyes met, she smiled up at me. "I know it's been tough lately. With our friends getting hurt and the constant fight we seem to be in. . . Just please, please don't give up."
"I'm sorry I didn't talk to you before," she said softly. "I was scared that you guys would judge me. I should've. . . I should've trusted that you would've helped me and. . . I'm sorry I didn't trust in. . . Us."
"It's okay," I smiled as I reached up and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
"I'm in love with you too," she whispered, so softly I almost didn't hear her.
I instantly leaned down and pressed my lips to hers. When we pulled apart, I pressed my forehead to hers. "I will always be here for you, Y/N. No matter what. We can get through all of this crap, together."
