Y/N POV
--Flashback--
I woke up from my unconscious state, being shaken by a fellow miner.
"What happened?" I tired my asked the man.
"Elevator collapsed. We're blocked in."
The Schnee mines had horrible working conditions, especially for the faunus. Stuck underground with one way out, a horribly built elevator which had just sealed out fates. The elevator entrance was caved in, limbs of the miners on it sticking out of the rocks and dirt.
--Time Skip--
It had been a week. The past two days without water, the past three with no food. It took the Schnee company a week to pull their thumbs out of their ass and work on rescuing us. It wasn't even them, it was the first level workers. Apparently we weren't the only level affected. On our level, 132 people had died. As for the others, 209 had perished in a gas explosion, incinerating their bodies.
The light started to break through the rocks, and voices filled the air.
"Hello! Anyone there?" A voice yelled through the darkness.
"We're here!" I yelled.
--Time Skip--
I stood on the surface, two Atlas doctors looking me over. My back was cut, my face dirtied, and my friends dead. Jacques Schnee himself walked through the crown of the injured miners, one small figure next to him. Weiss Schnee.
"If it wasn't for your incompetence, I would not have lost a very valuable mine!" Jacques bellowed.
"Its not our fault you don't know how to make a fucking mine!" I yelled. The others looked at me, no one had stood up to Jacques like this.
"You will not disrespect us like that!" A small feminine voice answered. Weiss Schnee.
"You're fired!" Jacques yelled.
"Fuck you to." I answered. Then I just left.
--Flashback End--
I woke up from my bed, sweating profusely. It was still dark out, meaning I had plenty of time to wander about. I pushed myself out of my bed and limped toward the door, opening and shutting it quietly. I looked down at where my hand used to be, the pain flooding back into my memories. My parents, Neo, and my friends, all dead. I hated the Schnee's and the White Fang to death.
Someday I will get my revenge.

I sat in this poor excuse of a class. This was a lecture by a fat guy in a red suit about different types of Grimm. I already knew every single thing about every Grimm type. Even the rare dragon Grimm. I had spent almost four years by myself outside of the kingdoms, hunting down Grimm and White Fang alike. This was the day right after Weiss Schnee had almost failed to a Boarbutusk. Pathetic.
"Mr. L/N! Are you paying attention?" Port spoke, breaking me from my train of thought.
"No. I'm not." I answered.
"Well then. How about you come down here and face a Grimm itself?"
"Fine." I said. I stood up and walked down, everyone staring at my limp or where my hand was. I took out my Deagle and aimed it at the cage, immediately knowing what type of Grimm it was. It was still a Boarbutusk like from yesterday. Port raised his weapon and struck the lock, releasing the Grimm.
BANG
The Grimm fell to the ground, starting to whither away. One shot from my pistol finished its sorry existence.
"Ha ha! It seems we have a true huntsman in our midst!"
I limped back to my seat next to my team, many of the students giving me surprised and confused looks.
"He did better than you Weiss." I heard the girl named Ruby speak to the Bitch.
"Oh please. He had a gun. Also, I'm surprised he was able to use that weapon, with his missing hand and all. Why is he even here?" The Bitch said. I stood up so quick that my papers fell to the ground. I raised my weapon at her, aiming straight for the right eye. She turned around, a look forward fear flashing across her face, but going back to her normal Bitch face.
"What are you doing?" She asked aggressively.
"Young man! Put the weapon down!" Port yelled. My face became relaxed, the voices becoming distant to my ears. My finger slowly drifted toward the trigger, pulling it. The round went right by the Bitch, almost hitting her.
"You are coming with me!" Port yelled again. Weiss shivered in fear and sat down.

I now sat in front of Ozpin in his tower, staring directly at him. He took a sip from his mug and looked back at me.
"Please. Tell me why you shot at Ms. Schnee?"
I remained silent.
"Very well then. I guess I will just have to expel you for endangering a student."
"No." I said.
"Excuse me?" Ozpin raised and eyebrow.
"No. Her family almost killed me." It pained me to remember why I hated them.
"I see. May I ask how?"
"Barvechos mine. 341 dead."
A flash of recognition went across his eyes, but returned to his normal stare.
"Were you ... one of the miners?" He asked.
"Yes."
Ozpin sighed. "I'll let it go this time. I do not want to hear of any more alterations. Understood?" He asked in a slightly aggressive tone.
"Yes."
"You may leave."

Ruby POV
"Why would he do that!?" Weiss stomped back and forth. It was kind of scary when she was like this.
"Was it something you said to him? I mean, you kind of did make fun if his hand." I pointed out.
"I didn't mean any of ... oh my Oum." Weiss stopped walking and stared forward.
"What?" Blake asked. She was reading her book, obviously annoyed at Weiss.
"He said to me, Barvechos mine, 341 dead."
"Wasn't that the Schnee Dust Company mine that failed four years ago?"
"Yes. I was there with my father. He was furious about losing the mine, and there was someone who stood up to him."
"Who?" I asked Weiss.
"It was him."
