The morning is the best time of day for Anne, the sun's ray's spark through the window and it's the time where her blossom tree looks the most glorious and beautiful. Not only that but the morning is the start of your day filled with infinite possibilities of things you can do. Anne always woke up early because she didn't want to miss one second of her day but today oh was she ever so gloomy, she made no effort to wake up early and she silently wished it was already the end and not the start of the day. She headed downstairs to eat breakfast before heading to school and even Marilla and Matthew could notice Anne's strange attitude.

''Morning Anne, are you alright'' Marilla asked.

''No, I'm sick Marilla'' Anne lied as she fake coughed.

Marilla raised her eyebrow ''Oh really? Let me check your temperature'' Marilla said as she placed her hand on Anne's forehead.

''Fiddlesticks, your forehead is as cold as it should be, eat your breakfast and out to school you go''

Marilla said.

''Can't I stay home?'' Anne begged

''Nonsense your education is very important Anne'' Marilla said as Anne ate her breakfast.

Anne groaned as she picked up her books

''Well, I do hope you feel better Anne'' Matthew said.

''My humblest thank you Matthew'' Anne said as she headed out the door in her gloomy state.

''Do you think someone at school is bothering her?'' Matthew asked concerned as soon as Anne was out of sight.

''Oh I'm sure it's nothing, that child is always filing her head with nonsense'' Marilla said.

Anne knew ever so many words but she couldn't find the right ones to tell Gilbert which is why she dreaded going to school today.

''Hey Gilbert, about yesterday let's just not talk about it. Sound good?'' Anne practiced saying.

''That sounds terrible'' Anne muttered with a groan.

As she arrived at Diana's house she knocked on the door and was greeted by Minnie May.

''Hello, Minnie May'' Anne said.

''What's got you in a gloomy mood Anne?'' Minnie May asked.

''Oh nothing'' Anne said with a sigh.

''Sorry I took so long'' Diana said as she walked towards the door.

''It's alright, bye Minnie may'' Anne said as the girls started walking.

''Anne are you okay?'' Diana asked.

And for the first time today she didn't lie.

''No, I'm not okay because yesterday in Gilbert's house we got awfully close to each other like kissing close but the Bash came in and I just ran out of there and now I don't know what to do or say and I'm so confused'' Anne rambled.

Diana just stood there trying to take in everything her bosom friend had just said.

''Well?'' Anne asked.

''Give me a moment to process this'' Diana said hesitantly.

''You almost kissed Gilbert but then Bash came in'' Diana asked

Anne nodded worryingly.

''YOU ALMOST KISSED GILBERT'' Diana said with giggles and squeals.

''What do I tell him?'' Anne asked as soon as Diana calmed down.

''Well you simply must confront him, you have gone through your womanly blossoming so you should act like a woman'' Diana asked.

''Your right, I am a woman'' Anne said but as soon as she said it the girls couldn't help but bust out laughing.

''Wait do you like Gilbert?'' Diana asked with a smirk

''WHAT, that is ridiculous we were just caught in the moment, and why would Gilbert Blythe ever like such a homely girl like me.'' Anne said

''Anne you are not homely and Gilbert would be lucky to have you'' Diana said reassuringly.

Anne smiled, Diana always knew what to say.

Anne's Point of View

As we arrived at school I searched for Gilbert and found him in the corner reading a book, I looked at Diana with a worried look

''You can do this'' she said

I walked towards him but as soon as I reached him and our eyes met all I could manage to do was turn around and walked in to the classroom.

Why didn't I say something?! Every time I'm around Gilbert Blythe I can't manage to speak properly but only because he is my rival and I get scared I might mess up and then he wins the conversation. I'm not sure if that makes sense but it makes sense to me and that's good enough.

Why can't people be like trees, their nice and compassionate and there when you need someone to talk to and they are wonderful huggers. If humans were trees I suppose the world would be a place with no problems.

I take my seat next to Diana

''chicken'' she whispers, I roll my eyes.

''Good Morning class, today we are learning about gravity. For today's class you will not need to move your desk but you will need to switch desks. Since the dance practice I have decided to try to pair you up with different people more often to increase socialization between students.'' Ms. Stacy explains.

''I don't really have time to pick partners so just group up with your dancing partner''Ms.Stacy says

I wanted to be mad at Ms. Stacy so much for making me partner with the only person I didn't want to partner with but I couldn't because Ms. Stacy is single handedly the most kindred spirit I had ever met.

Why is fate turned against me all the time?

I look at Gilbert who clenches his jaw as he walks to towards me to switch desks with Diana.

''This is your chance, don't mess it up'' Diana whispers in my ear as she switches desk with Gilbert.

I take out my notebook and avoid eye contact

''Anne?'' Gilbert says

''Yes, Gilbert Blythe?'' I say in a formal tone still avoiding to look at him

''About yesterday'' he begins saying.

Okay he gave you a push just say something, yet nothing comes out of my mouth. COME ON ANNE say anything.

''I don't recall what you're talking about'' I say.

Of all the infinite possibilities of my imagination, my brilliant mind chooses this one?!? Oh Anne Shirley Cuthbert you have really done it this time.
