RICK'S POV
///////////////

I felt bad for what I was doing to Carl, terrible infact.

Everyone in Alexandria, The Kingdom, and at the Hill Top was preparing to attack the Saviors tomorrow.

I had been over seeing things all day, the sun was now starting to set and I was exhausted. I sat on my bed taking my boots off.

I heard footsteps and looked up to see Daryl.

I smiled slightly when he sat down next to me. "You think we have to worry about him runnin' again?" I asked.

Daryl shrugged. "I dunno." He said taking his own boots off.

Daryl took his vest off and just sat there silently.

I looked at him and sighed. "I wish things were different." I mumbled. Daryl nodded. "So do I.." he sighed.

I rested my forehead on his and closed my eyes.

I wanted to tell Daryl I loved him, because it's true, but I didn't wanna rush it, or have him feel obligated to say it back.

I kissed his lips breifly and laid down. My back ached from all the heavy lifting I had done during the day.

Daryl laid down next to me and wrapped an arm around my waist. I smiled and kissed his greasy head.

I felt Daryl smile against my neck, where his face was buried.

"How long have you had a thing for me?" I asked him.

Daryl was silent for a second. "Probably since the prison, after we took in everyone from Woodbury.. when it was safe.." he trailed off.

I sighed and ran my fingers through his tangled hair, gently pulling when I came across any knots. "We'll make it safe again, I promise."

"I hope your right.."

(A/N: I know this chapter was really short but I just needed a filler, and I wanted to write something cute for Rick and Daryl)
