July 20th, 2019
The day my mother left this earth, the day the abuse worsened. The day I blinked and was able to see my dark future. The funeral was beautiful. Everyone came, family who I haven't seen in years showed up. Everyone cried but then after we had a celebration of life. We all were happy that my mom was in a better place and yes it's part of life.

That night I saw something change in my stepfathers eyes and I knew what was to come next. But what I didn't expect was for everything to change. After everyone leaves our house I run upstairs to my bedroom, but when I arrived he was waiting. I tried to run but his big arms stopped me. He pulled off my clothes and forced me do have sex with him he took a belt and beat me he forced himself into me and I screamed and cried. My stepbrothers heard me scream and came in but watched. They never helped they just watched.

Soon it was all over and he left with my stepbrothers and closed my door. I was bleeding and crying my back bleeding from all the hits and my arse bleeding a lot. I felt dirty. I felt like I was the one at fault. I got up in pain and walked to the shower in the hallway hours later when everyone slept and cleaned myself. My room wasn't a real room. Ever since my mom died I've been forced to sleep in the attic. My stepbrothers kept their nice rooms, and my beautiful old one is now a guest room.

When family comes over I have to stay In the attic and pretend I'm not home. I needed an escape. I became the slave of the house. I was the only one who cleaned, cooked and did all the gardening, my stepbrothers homework with my own.

As the days went buy the abuse didn't stop. He would come into the attic to beat me because I wanted to sleep before doing my chores. Because I went to bed when they did. Watching movies with them. It was bad that my stepbrothers had to sneak me downstairs when he was gone to enjoy some tv. At first they were nice to me. We used to have a good relationship, but when their dad told them that if they were nice to me he would rape them too. They stopped being nice.

School was a week away, and yeah I was happy, because it was an escape. My bestfriend who is the only one that knows about the abuse I am receiving, she is the only person I trust and rely on. I texted her in secret this whole summer. Since I was never allowed to have fun anymore. I could use school as an excuse to have fun because it was the summer. But I will say this, him and my stepbrothers went on vacation for a week and I had my bestfriend Destini come over.

Me and Destini were the best of friends. We grew up together. Our mothers were like sisters and so when we were born it felt like I finally had the sister I needed.

Thank god my stepfather never found out she was here because if that was the case I would've been dead by now. But I can't wait to see her. I hope things change and I hope this year gets better. It's my senior year and I get to graduate and go on to college. And then I'll be free from this hell hole. Maybe one day I'll find love and I'll be happy maybe one day my eyes will have the same shine of happiness they used to.
