Chapter 8: Jealousy

"Y-You what?" Is what (Y/n) said next. He didn't know how to respond. 'It's been a year since they ended things and he still loves me' (Y/n) thought. For a moment silence filled the air between the two of them. No one spoke for a while until Sehun started to speak up.

"My grandfather bought a house that's close to my old one. I decided to move in with him because it was the best option. My mother didn't want me to get my own apartment because the rent is too much so I moved in with him." He let out a sigh. "I know that you are dating Jackson but I miss you and I'm glad that we have the lead roles in the play. It will be like old times."

(Y/n) stood silent for a while but then decided to speak up. "It's nice seeing you again but, my heart is with Jackson-." He was cut off because Sehun has kissed him. He instantly pulled away. "I-I can't Sehun."

(Y/n) ran off and left the theater room. He ran to Destini and just hugged her immediately as he felt tears slip out of his eyes. She just hugged him back since she kind of had an idea on why the male was crying. "Let's go to our next class and then we can go out to the cafe after school and we can talk about it."

Meanwhile on the trip, everyone got a notification on their phone about true tweet max had sent out. The caption read; 'oh look it's the schools slut. He's already cheating on Jackson. The boy sees his ex lover and can't keep his ass in his pants.'

Jackson saw the tweet and already knew that something fishy was going on. He knew that (Y/n) was the lead role in the school play. He had hoped that he would be the other lead but it was given to Sehun.

Sehun was and currently is Jackson's rival. In everything the two always felt the need to complete. Especially when it came to (Y/n). The same day Jackson found out Sehun was dating (Y/n) was the same day Jackson wanted to ask him out.

Flash back

May 20th 2017

Jackson had everything planned out. He was finally going to ask (Y/n) out on a date. He hoped that the male would say yes. He wore a nice outfit to school that day, hoping that he would succeed.

He went through the school day as usual and when it was time for his history class he saw Sehun and (Y/n) kiss before entering the classroom. His blood boiled at rye sight but then that anger turned into sadness. At the time Jackson didn't know what to do next.

As the days went on he had to watch the boy he was in love with, be happy with another man. A man that he hated and always will hate. He thought that maybe just once, Sehun would loose at something. He had hoped that Sehun would finally understand that he won't always win. But in the end, Jackson lost to him.

Jackson would even ignore (Y/n) in school. He became cold towards everyone during that time. He ended up having one night stands and developing fake relationships just to hide his true emotions.

The day Sehun left and after he had ended things with (Y/n), Jackson started to slowly return to his normal self.

Flashback ends

Seeing that picture just brought all of those memories back and he started getting more angry. He logged out of his Twitter account and just listened to music to calm himself down.

The whole way back to the school, he couldn't stop thinking about what could happen if Sehun was able to take his boyfriend away from him.

He decided to talk to lyric about the situation. She hated Sehun with all of her heart. She seen Sehun kiss another boy and she hasn't told (Y/n) what really went down.

She held that information from (Y/n) not because she didn't want to say anything, but because she found out that they had already broken up.

"Jackson, look at who made the post. Max hates competition and (Y/n) is his competition." She said. "Not only that but look at it this way. All the boys in the school want (Y/n),  but none of them like Max. So Max is purposely going to try and break you and (Y/n) up."

"So you're saying I should ignore it? It's kind of hard to ignore when Sehun is going to be around him constantly not to mention, their characters kiss in the play." Jackson sighed in frustration.

"It's just a play, plus I highly doubt that (Y/n) wants to kiss him. When we go to school tomorrow try not to kill Sehun and don't get mad at (Y/n). He's just doing his job." She stated.

Jackson just nodded and listened to his music for the remainder of the bus ride.

After talking to Destini at the cafe, he walked home alone. It was A lot on his mind now and he was constantly thinking about the kiss in the play and how it would affect his current relationship.

He took out his keys and unlocked the door to his house. His stepfather was on the couch drinking a bottle of vodka and (Y/n) just rolled his eyes as he made his way upstairs. But there Max was standing at the top of the staircase. He had a metal bat in his hand and tried to hit (Y/n).

(Y/n) grabbed the bat and tossed it to the side and punched Max in the face several times and grabbed his hair and dragged him down the hall not letting go or giving Max a chance to stand up. Max was screaming and (Y/n) let him go.

"Don't ever do that again or I won't stop next time." He said and then walked towards the stairs but his stepfather blocked his way. "Since you want to attack Max when he was trying to play with you I'll show you how it feels." He said and picked up (Y/n) by his shirt and throwing him down the stairs. (Y/n) groaned in pain and tried getting up but his stepfather grabbed the metal bat and beat him with it until he was unconscious. There was blood on the floor and the walls. His stepfather smirked and went to his room.

Max stood there smirking to himself, "my work here is done."

His other step brother, Chris saw the whole scene and rushed to (Y/n) he dialed 911 and tried to stop the bleeding. "Max how could you let dad do this to him! I know you don't like him but that's not a reason to allow this!" He said and Max just rolled his eyes and walked to his room.

Soon the ambulance arrived and took (Y/n) to the hospital, Chris went with him in the ambulance and when the police were looking for his stepfather he was gone.
