Chapter 8 | The principal's threat
"Miss Williams, I think I'll have to call your father".
"Excuse me?" I asked, thinking if I heard right.
"So stop with the nonsense, there was a letter in his pocket, written by his handwriting!" he glared at me.
"I'm sure it was all planned, Sir" I insisted. "Mr. Arthurian was betrayed" I continued.
"I don't know what have you and Mr. Parker done yesterday, but I do not certainly wish to happen it again" he said while looking out of the window.
I sipped my, now cold black tea, and continued.
"Well how does it explain the gunshot?" I asked politely.
Another sip.
"It's ridiculous, no sane person would believe this story, Miss Williams".
Another sip.
"As I said, I don't know what you two have done and I do not wish to know".
"But-". "No Miss Williams I'm not going to scare students just because you have an amazing story that you think I'll believe" he said while looking at his paperwork.
"Now, if this is going to repeat in the future, I'll have no other option than calling your father," I silently sipped the rest of my tea "that's everything Miss Williams" he raised his hand as a signal that our conservation is over.

I walked through the hallway angrier than ever. I was so sure that the principal is going to believe me, that I haven't thought of plan B.
I accidently bumped into a tall man. I muttered quiet sorry and continued on my way to dormitories.
"Angel!" the tall man smiled at me, but immediately got scared of my face expression.
"We seem to meet each other pretty often, right?"Ben said smirking.
"Yea" I answered, completely uninterested in the conversation.
"Shouldn't you be in a class?" he asked couriously.
"I was in principal's office" I admitted.
"What have you done?" he grinned at me.
Why do people automatically assume I've done something wrong? Oh, right, it's me. That's why.
"No I just had some basic questions about the schedule, you know" I smiled back at him.
I'm not going to tell him the truth, it's too dangerous. Denying is probably the best thing I can do at the moment.
"Oh right" he said, looking relieved. "If that's the case I'll see you later" Ben said as he walked away from me.
Isn't it just great.

When I came to our room, Elle was in her usual position. Sitting on her bed (that was covered in fluffy blankets) with a book in her hand and chocolate in the other one.
"Hey" she greeted me without looking up from the new romance novel 'After you, Sir'.
My bed was beyond everything I could have wanted. But after failing miserably, I decided that I'm going to spent the rest of my life there.
No hunting for justice, no self-loathing fear or dangerously charming gentlemen.
For a moment I wanted to be alone. Think about everything that happened. My mind traveled back to England. Somehow I missed emotionless Olivia, my perfect brother and even my father.
I remembered Archer. His finger grasping my face, pulling it towards his. His cute dimples along with his jade eyes. And his mouth. It sure would feel blissful to-
"Can you stop giggling, it's scary!" Elle finally looked at me.
I wasn't gigling. I surely wasn't, right? Why was I even thinking about that son of motherhood? We was friends, nothing more. Was that thing between us friendship?
My deep thinking about the brown haired man was interrupted by a loud knock.
"Yeah?" Elle said, not caring who the guest is.
"Should I visit later?" Archer said, his arm bandaged by the nurse I assume.
I was delighted by his visit. I sure very sarcastically was. I sighed not wanting to looked at his perfect, chiseled features. Wait perfect?
"So was the plan successful?" he sat on my bed. I shrieked and moved closer to the wall.
"Eh, no" I whispered knowing that, that wasn't the answer he wanted to hear.
"I knew it" he sighed and looked at his fingers. His statement has taken me by a surprise.
"What's happening?" Elle slowly said, eyeing me and Archer suspiciously.
I looked at Archer thinking that he might explain our little adventure. He didn't flinch. I didn't know what's there to explain since I still don't know what has exactly happened.
"Well we somehow visited Mr. Arthurian's office," I started "and almost died" I blinked at the thought of Archer getting shot.
Elle didn't say anything. "What?" she asked confused. "There was an assassin trying to shot Catherine, because she overheard the conversation between two gentlemen." Archer explained quickly.
Elle put down her book and looked at me. "So it's true, you really heard those informations?" she raised her eyebrows.
I nodded. "So you're telling me that Mr. Arthurian didn't commit a suicide, but was killed?" she started walking around our room.
"That is just-" "Crazy" me and Archer said at the same time. "But think about it, it makes perfect sense!" I stood up so quickly that poor Archer had to look if his limb is still attached to his body.
"Somebody betrayed him" I continued. "A betrayal?" Elle said to herself.
"And you want to prove that Mr. Arthurian was killed by someone?" she asked looking at me.
"Exactly!" I was so happy that she started to understand.
"Even if Mr. Arthurian was killed, why would we- students, should bother with that?" she pointed at herself.
She was right. I shouldn't pretend to be a detective. Besides, I'm here to study.
Suddenly I remembered how the two gentlemen talked about 'it'.
"No we won't be hunting for 'that' " Elle somehow read my thoughts.
My smile turned into a smirk. "Even government wants 'it' " I pointed out.
Archer was laying on my bed watching the conversation like a tennis tournament.
"Another reason, why we should stay out of it" Elle glared at me.
Again she was right, it would be stupid-
"When, let's do it" Archer finally spoke. My eyes went wide.
"You can't be serious it's a ticket to death or even worse, were going to get expelled!" Elle screamed.
I silently looked at Archer, who had a face expression 'is this girl really sane or just pretending to be'.
"I'm in" I said with confidence.
Archer looked at me with a smirk.
"Me too" he said while holding out his uninjured arm.
I gently put my hand above his and looked at Elle.
"No, that's crazy!" she growled and put her hand above mine.
"So it's decided" Archer said, looking at our hands.
Elle looked furious, I even thought for a while that she is going to spit on our hands, luckily that didn't happen.
"It's decided" I whispered.
