Chapter 27 | The not so blissful holiday
I think that I can consider myself a frequent visitor of an airport.
This time it was even more crowded than the last time I've been there.
But last time I had anxiety and crippling depression at the same time.
The only advantage was Ben, but looking at the two gentlemen accompanying me and Elle, I wish that Ben would be here with us.
"Don't worry, William" I said to phone hanging from the wall, my friends getting annoyed by the length of our conversation.
"Yes, I'll be careful"
"Of course, I'll write you"
"I won't be troublesome"
"I love you too, bye!"
My hand finally put the phone on its place and walked over to my lovely group.
Archer was the first one to notice me.
"So, can we get on the board?" he asked coldly and grabbed his suitcase hurriedly.
I'll really have to talk to him later on. The situation is just getting worse and worse between us.
"Yeah, let's go" my sigh waking up Elle an Alec from their own thoughts.
We walked over to a stewardess while hoping that our flight won't be too long and tiresome.
"This way, please" she gestures next to her at the entrance that was leading to the plane.
Everybody stayed silent as we made our way to the plane.
"Your seats are 77,78,79 and 80, have a great flight!" another stewardess said with an unbelievable enthusiasm.
The seats were in a row, not allowing the people sitting next to the window conversate with his or her friends.
And this time it's going to be me. I sat on the seat 77 and put my suitcase under it.
I noticed Archer's raised eyebrows and him opening his mouth to say something, but before he got a chance, Elle happily sat next to me, her seat saying 78.
Archer looked at Alec with a disgusted face expression on his face.
"Looks like we'll have to survive those four hours next to each other" Alec said and sat on the seat 78, leaving Archer the lonely seat next to the window.
I heard him mutter some ungentleman words as he made his way to his seat, angrily slamming his suitcase under him.
Well, this is going to be unforgettable experience.
Elle took out a book out of her suitcase before leaving it under her legs.
"I'm telling you, they will kill each other" Elle whispered while looking at Archer an Alec.
I sighed knowing that Elle is right.
"Look, they're preparing for a fight" Elle said and took out her favourite romance novel.
My eyes looked at the situation next to us.
Elle was right, they looked like they were in a heated argument. Archer trying to lower his voice every five seconds.
While Alec was- smiling?
I lost interest in their fight and closed my eyes wanting to get some sleep.
"Why did Archer even agree to accompany us, I heard that he wanted to visit his family" Elle mumbled as she was reading the same page, due to her losing focus every ten seconds.
I nodded still with my eyes shut, finally feeling my mind drifting off to sleep.
-
"Cat?"
"Catherine, we have arrived"
"Catherine Angelica Williams, will you be of that love and open your precious and royal eyes!" a voice yelled in my ear.
Since I didn't want to end up being deaf, I obediently listened and opened my royal, precious eyes.
Elle's angry face was hovering above me as I tried to sit up.
"You literally slid off of your seat" she said and put her book inside the suitcase.
"Why didn't you help me then?" I asked while trying to stretch my sore back.
She looked at me, her eyes glimmering.
"It was too funny for me to end it" she laughed and continued packing her stuff.
"You're unbelievable, Elle" I said and massaged my neck.
"No, this holidays are going to be unbelievable!" she screamed in my ear louder whenever before.
I rolled my eyes and took out my suitcase under my seat.
"I can't stand this no longer!" Archer shouted and tried to hurriedly get off the plane.
"It's better to wait, you won't have to stand in a cheque." I repeated the words that Ben told me on my first flight.
Archer just glared at me completely ignoring my advice.
Have it your way then bastard.
We waited fee minutes before finally deciding to get off.
There was even a familiar grumpy young guy waiting for us in front of the airport.
His glare sending me shiver down my spine.
"Was it worth it?" I asked with the sweetest voice I could have done.
Archer stayed silent and kept looking at his suitcase.
"The driver is going to be here any moment, so don't kill each other yet, please" Alec looked at us and put his suitcase on the ground.
"Oh, I'm not the one that's about to kill someone" Archer said, his statement obviously directed to Alec.
Alec sighed and faced Archer.
"I know that you are mad, but please let me gain your trust during these ten days" he said calmly.
"How am I supposed to trust you?"
"How am I supposed to not worry that you'll kill Catherine or Elle in their sleep?" Archer raised his eyebrows, his hand pointing at me.
I felt sudden warm feeling inside my chest.
"I have no idea how to insure you now and here, but you'll change your opinion on me in the future" Alec responded with a noticeable guilt in his voice.
"Archer, he's not who you think he is" I whispered hoping that Archer will let Alec alone.
"I just don't believe him after all I've seen" he said without any hatred towards me.
I was surprised by his answer.
Is he talking normally with me now?
Is his stupid ignoring session over?
"I'm sorry, I really am" Alec tried to confront him.
"Your apology won't take it back" Archer responded coldly.
And we're back.
"Mr. Gilmore?" the unfamiliar voice asked.
Alec's attention was fully back as he grabbed his suitcase and followed the man with words "The driver is here"
