Fallacy's P.O.V

I've never felt better. I finally had someone to stand by me. Someone to change the sad days into something brighter. My mouth twitched into a small smile as I watched Encre paint on one of the canvas' that was given to her. She stroked the brush gently with different colors and shades. She seemed at peace even if I dazed her earlier.

Watching her work fascination's on the blank canvas gave me a wonderful idea.

"When you're finished you can hang it up anywhere you want in the castle." I stated smoothly.

Encre stilled for a few moments, "Really?"

She hadn't even looked up from her painting but I could tell she was surprised. My hand fell to her shoulder as I gave it a small squeeze of reassurance, "Really" I repeated.

This time she tilted her head back and beamed. I could tell she was happy that I allowed her to do this, but I mean this castle does need a feminine touch.  Encre's attention went back to her canvas. I wasn't exactly sure what she was painting but whatever it was I wanted to see it hung up no matter what it looked like.

I just hope she doesn't take this for advantage and paint something like me in some sort of dress. I'm sure the servants and maids in the castle would have a hoot but if the counsel saw something like that they would never let that's subject drop. My eyes took notice to every little detail and movement Encre made. She was absolutely graceful when she was at work.

"I can feel your eyes on me Fallacy." She told me out of the blue. A rainbow flush was starting to creep up her neck and to her cheeks.

A gave her a slanted, amused smile, "I enjoy watching you paint." I stated plainly and truthfully.

Even when she spoke she didn't set her brush down as some paints mixed in with others, "Do you want to paint with me?" She asked.

I chuckled, "Love, I can't paint. I'll only smear the paint and create a blob on a canvas. I do just as good as any toddler."

"Have you ever tried?"

"Never, I have not picked up a paintbrush thinking I could create something amazing. Even now all I think the best I can do would be a simple line, if not a messed up circle."

When I saw her canvas again I felt awed. She created a dark, gloomy setting with a man sitting on the rock alone looking out to see a bright glow and a woman emerging from the tree's. I felt a pull on my heart. She was creating us. The dark and the light.

"My lord," Suave's voice broke through my thoughts, " some of King Asgore's men are looking for Encre." Suave spoke calmly, "What must we do?"

Encre's head perked up, "Asgore's men are looking for me?"

Suave nodded, "Yes my lady, they have a hefty price for the return of you."

I turned to face Suave, "Where are these men?"

"Not close to the castle but they're in the woods. They're closer to the wolves territory than they are on your land but they might split into two groups."

I let out a short breath, "Don't take action yet. If it gets to it I will inform the wolves about the situation." I didn't want to but if it could help Encre I would, "I'll bring Encre with me and make sure the book comes with us."

"My lord, should we inform the counsel as well?" Suave questioned, "And what about the return about the young lord?"

He was right. My son Jasper will soon have to know about the situation. He was incredibly smart and confident about everything, but he knew his weaknesses. Jasper kept secrets and he was loyal. It's why I always felt comfortable telling him anything important without worrying that he might betray me one day. Which is highly doubtful.

"What is his whereabouts?" I asked.

"He visited one of the counsels daughters and planned to stay there for a couple more days. He had some business to discuss with them from what I was told."

"You are dismissed." I told Suave after gathering enough information and he bowed before taking his dismiss.

I stood there silently as I thought over the course of actions. Asgore's men were tough but over confident. They will think they were invincible with Rufous as there blacksmith. He was great with crafting weapons and such and knew how to improve.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see Encre gazing at me with a worried expression, "Maybe I should go with them. Return to Asgore so nobody will get hurt."

I snatched her hands and held them to my chest, a serious look on my face, "You won't! I forbid that!"

Encre's eyes looked down, "This is my fight. Nobody should get hurt because of me, Fallacy."

I growled in disapproval, "This mess started with my men. This is my fight too, Encre! I won't let you fight alone."

I watched as tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, "I won't let you get hurt Fallacy."

I tried to read her mind but it was completely blank. How? I don't know. But I became frustrated. I was completely blind to what she was thinking or if she was making some sort of escape plan, which was possible. Encre eased away from me and I allowed her hands to slip out of mine as she swept past me and left me alone in the art room.

I felt crushed as time began to pass and I just stood in silence. How was I going to protect someone as stubborn as her? My eyes traveled to the floor but then I straightened and looked towards the door. It doesn't matter, it shouldn't matter how stubborn she is. She was worth fighting for. And I will protect her with everything I have.

Before I turned to leave I caught sight of the canvas and noticed something. I looked to the glowing girl and noticed a small tear falling from her eye and her outstretched hand was as if she was waving a silent goodbye and disappeared into the woods. It was something I hadn't noticed before because it was almost hidden. I quickly exited the room and dashed to Encre's room in a hurry. Worry was edged into my face and I bursted into her room to find it was empty and a blood red rose laying on her bed with a single thorn. I looked towards her window and knew she wouldn't be far, but hopefully she doesn't run to Asgore's men. I should've known. She told me with her color's, what she was planning to do. The painting wasn't about how we met.

It was a goodbye....
