Encre's P.O.V
I knew why I was running but my heart ached even more with every step that I took. I fought the tears that threatened to fall as I ran faster. I was doing this for Fallacy. For my family. I had to slow down at a point, to catch my breath. I couldn't run forever and I knew that. I wasn't even close to being invincible.
"I heard something." Someone hissed.
My blood turned cold as I stood in place, scared to even move.
"Are you sure?" Another snapped and I could hear metal clinging together.
Did they have swords? Daggers? My eyes widened. Are these Asgore's men? My hands clenched at my sides as I took in a deep breath, "H-hello?" I stumbled.
The crunching of leaves grinded into the ground when both their feet turned in my direction. I stood my ground and allowed myself to stand tall, breathing regulated, and heart calm. I could not let these men thinking I was intimidated by them.
"Who are you?" The man asked crudely.
I walked towards them but stopped so I wouldn't seem as if I was trying to challenge their authority, "My name is Encre. Artist of King Asgore." I stated.
The man with his sword raised looked towards his comrade and he nodded, "Young lady, come with us."
Both men went to both my sides and crowded me. One had there hands at the small of my back to push me slightly forwards and direct me. I was uncomfortable but I understood there actions. They didn't want me to run.
"May I ask why the king asks for me?" I questioned a bit blandly.
"The king had you as a royal artist and when you disappeared it raised eyebrows. We have reasons to believe that you are associating with the vampires and so you are suspected to treason." The soldier told me with a hint of venom.
Treason!?
I shot a glare at him, "And where is your evidence?"
The soldier only shook his head and didn't answer. He probably didn't have an answer. The bag hanging off of my shoulder held the book with my lost family.
"Asgore is the traitor." I told them calmly.
This time both their head shot towards me and one hissed, "Our king is no traitor!"
Smiling I decided not to show them the book in fear that they might take it and all my proof will be gone. So I stayed quiet.
The walk was long and dreadful and my feet began to hurt but I never once complained. Both men kept pace beside me, however one of them stopped and looked to their right. All three of us stopped in dead silence. A low, predatory growl came from the bushes and the man to my left raised their sword.
I tried backing up but the other man kept their hand on me. The one with the sword slowly entered the bushes, and just as he entered a loud, terrified scream erupted. A snarl and the sound of tearing was audible.
My arm was snatched and I was dragged as the other man ran away from his friend. I tried to squirm and tug but it didn't work. Paws hit the ground behind us in a sprint but when I looked I saw something. I saw a wolf.
I was flung to the side as another wolf randomly emerged from the side and took down the man that had held my arm in a painful grip. He was dragged into the brush and he let out an ear-piercing scream as he was dragged farther into the woods.
I scrambled to my feet but decided to fall to my knees. I had to show the wolves that I was no predator or anything challenging them. I wanted to be seen as weak to them so I would not end up like the two men that were taken away.
"Get you're ratty ass up you runt." A familiar voice spat.
I looked up to see the Alpha. The one with the sharp teeth and the single golden tooth.
"What the hell are you looking at?" He roughly grabbed my arm and dragged me to my feet with ease, "hey blood sucker, here's your little rat."
I was thrown to be met with strong arms caging me, "What were you thinking?" Fallacy asked me.
"I was going to-"
"You were going to what!?" Fallacy snapped at me with anger, "Get yourself killed!? I heard what they said! You get hung in front of everyone for treason!"
This time I let my tears fall, "I could prove to everyone that Asgore is a true monster."
"He was going to have you hung without evidence! Their is no reasoning at this point, Encre! He knows you're a threat!" The hurt hung in his voice, "If you went to Asgore you'd be killing yourself"
I didn't look at Fallacy, but it was Red who spoke, "Asgore? What about that giant mole?"
"He's not meant to be sitting on that throne." Fallacy told Red as his arms grew tighter around me, "Encre has the royal blood. Asgore took her throne."
"Wait, you got to be kidding me." Red started to laugh, "That little pip squeak can't possibly be a royal."
Fallacy didn't seem to listen. Instead, he reached into my bag and threw Red the book, "Look at the picture on the marked page."
Red gasped, "This must be some sort of sick joke. They all died." His finger pointed to the small baby cradled in the queens arms, "There is no way she survived!"
Before I could even speak Fallacy's fangs pricked my shoulder and blood streamed down it slowly. His finger swept over the blood and he showed it to Red, "Just smell her blood and you'll know."
Red was hesitant with uncertainty but he leaned over and sniffed, "....Impossible." His eyes went over me, "Even if you're a Princess you're still a rat to me."
I felt like I just gained an ally but I responded, "That's fine with me."
