Carina Malfoy//h.potter

CHAPTER FIVE

The days passed by and as Christmas was reaching, Harry Potter would tried repeatedly to gain Carina Malfoy's attention in order to thank her after Hermione Granger filled him in how she helped him. However every time he would approach her Draco Malfoy would out of the sudden appear to sneer at him. Ron Weasley would jump in to defend him, Hermione would try to prevent the fight but Draco would continue to insult them while Crabbe and Goyle would stand beside him. Harry then would insult him back until as usually Carina would put an end.

Once for a example, as Carina followed closely by Pansy Parkinson and Daphne Greengrass left the dungeons at the end of Potions, she was explaining them their recent potions work and finally seemed to understand what Snape wanted them to do. While they walked closer to a large fir tree which was blocking the corridor ahead, she saw her brother with his friends starting a row once again with the Golden Trio.

She huffed in annoyance. Really she can't take her eyes off him just for one second? She fasten her pace looking directly at her brother's head, pulled her potions book and hit him hard enough for him to gasp in pain.

"Ouch!" Draco said holding the back of his head and made a turn to meet Carina's narrowed blue yes "Cara?"

"Haven't I told you to stop harassing other student's?" she asked lowly but intimidatingly.

"B-But- Weasley and Potter-!" Draco began to stutter.

"I don't care." she interrupted him then she noticed the half-giant "I'm sorry if my brother caused any problems."

"That's alright. You must be Carina Malfoy! I have heard so much of you!" he said smiling behind his beard while glancing to the Potter boy whose eyes widen and cheeks reddened.

Carina's eyebrow rose "Oh? I'm sorry but I don't seem to recall your name mister?"

"Rubeus Hagrid."

"Well, mister Hagrid once again I apologize for my brother's behavior but we must get going before we get late for our next class." she answered softly taking her brother's arm and moving away but first she nodded her head to the Gryffindors.

"Ah! I can see why you like her Harry." said Hagrid while watching them walk away.

Harry's face turned gryffindor red "What? No Hagrid! It's not that!"

"I guess she's alright for a Malfoy." replied Ron wanting to tease his friend.

"Let's not mention that our Harry here seems to lose his ability to talk." Hagrid laughed.

"I do not!" Harry replied.

"I'm afraid so Harry." giggled Hermione as the other two laughed.

"I believe that you are too much like yer father, James. Wait until he gets pass the silent crushing, that's where the actual fun begins." Hagrid said to Harry then winked to Ron and Hermione.

"What do you mean by that?" Harry questioned.

And then Hagrid began the tale of James and Lily Potter from his point of view.

"Dray, it's nearly Christmas would you like anything for me to get you?" asked Carina as she watched her brother who was gaping at the Great Hall's decorations. It was covered by mistletoes and garlands all around the walls and no fewer that twelve towering Christmas trees stood around the room, some sparkling with tiny icicles and hundred of candles.

Draco paused to think "Nothing that I don't already have... How about once we get at the manor we play one-on-one Quidditch?" he grinned.

Carina nodded and petted his blond-white hair "Of course.", she stood up "I'm going to the library to check a book out, I'll be right back." she announced.
