The next day everything was back to normal like the events of the night before never happened. The twins continued their everyday routine, Draco trying to bother fellow students and Carina stopping any potential feud that Draco would usually cause, especially with the Gryffindor's Golden boy.
Carina was interested in finding out what laid underneath the dog and the trapdoor yet everytime she tried to mention it to Draco, he would stare at her accusingly and say "You promised me." Then she would drop it and continue her normal routine.

On Halloween morning, Carina had a strange feeling that something was going to happen but she choose to ignore it. Two months had paused since she began Hogwarts and she realized that she didn't miss the Malfoy Manor at all. The castle was splendid and it held a certain warmth that the manor didn't. It felt more like home than her own and her brother would agree.
Their lessons were becoming more and more interesting now that they had mastered the basics. Carina was a little disappointed that they weren't advancing faster. For example, Professor Flitwick announced in Charms that they were ready to start levitating objects. They started with a feather.
It was simple swish and flick of the wand and a good pronunciation of Wingardium Leviosa. Remember it's Wing-GAR-dium Levi-O-sa not Levio-SAAR. You have no idea how many said it wrong. Anyway, Carina as expected she was able to do it on her first try gaining this way twenty points to Slytherins much to Ravenclaw's displeasure.
The day continued as normally until it was time for the Halloween feast. The Great Hall was decorated with a thousand live bats fluttered from the walls and ceiling while a thousand more swooped over the tables in low black clouds, making the candles in the pumpkins stutter. The feast appeared suddenly on the golden plates, as it had at the start-of-term banquet.
Carina was about to eat when she heard Pansy and Daphne giggling rather loudly. She titled her head slightly to the right turning towards them and raised an eyebrow gesturing them to speak.
"The Gryffindor Patil said that Granger has locked herself in the girls lavatory crying her eyes out." Pansy stated proudly.
Carina stared at her with an expressionless face "And why is that?"
"Apparently it was something that Weasley said." she replied.
Carina turned her eyes at the Gryffindor table observing as Weasley was stuffing his face with chicken. "Why would a girl as intelligent as Granger be crying over that pig?" Carina thought.
She got up making her brother look at her questioningly "Where are you going Cara?"
"To powder my nose." she replied gently making her way out of the Great Hall as a pair of green eyes watched her curiously.
When she finally reached the girl's bathroom she could hear Hermione sobbing. She walked farther into the bathroom and as her steps were echoing around the crying softened a bit.
"Are you Okay?" Carina asked softly.
"Malfoy?"Granger wondered and then her voice hardened "Go away! I don't want to be laughed at!"
Carina gazed at the closed door amused "Well that was insulting... Have you ever seen me make fun of anyone?"
"Sorry." Hermione said through the door after a moment of silence.
Carina chuckled "That's alright. How about you come out and explain to me about those ridiculous rumors of you crying over something Weasley said?"
