Draco and Carina Malfoy were inside Hogwarts Express sitting in silence. Draco noting his sister's pursed lips and cold eyes filled with annoyance, knew that she was definitely not happy. He decided that it was for the best if they sat on a compartment by themselves. He didn't need anyone else to fuel her anger.

He guessed that their father was the reason of her grumpy state. At breakfast Carina would growl quietly as their father talked to them, going over their behavior and rules, and when she was allowed to speak her tone would send chills in his veins. She was upset as well as frustrated and that happens only when she can't figure something out.

"Cara?" called Draco in hesitation. Carina pulled her eyes away from the window, her blue eyes facing his grey ones "Is there something that you want to tell me?"

Carina shut back in her seat as she asked "Did you see father leaving with a black textbook yesterday?"

Draco stared at her confused "No, why?"

Carina sighed and frowned " I went back to get that book at night and it was gone."

Draco's eyes widened " Are you out of your mind?" he yelled "What if father had found you? Do you even understand what kind of trouble you almost put yourself in?"

Carina rolled her eyes and dismissed his worries "Calm down, Dray. I made sure everyone was asleep."

Draco scowled "Keep doing things like that, your Gryffindor is showing." he taunted.

Carina scoffed at him "Sorry dear, one hundred percent Slytherin here!"

Draco smirked egging his sister. "Well then brother, I guess someone doesn't want the Falmouth Falcons robes this year for Christmas accompanied with the player's autographs." said Carina.

Draco gaped at her " You're kidding? How did you do that?"

Carina smiled sweetly at her brother "I have my ways." she replied while she winked and laughed at his annoyed expression.

"Well, look at that! Carina Malfoy our resident ice-queen is laughing!" A male voice joked as he entered inside.

The twins' heads turned towards the voice, the familiar tall, dark-haired and bright grey eyes fourth year Hufflepuff known as Cedric Diggory smiled charmingly at them. Carina nodded in acknowledgment and Draco's eyebrows quirked up.

"Cedric." said politely Carina ignoring her brother's dumbfound expression.

Cedric grinned "First names already? Good, that means you are willing to become friends." he then turned to Draco extending his right hand "Cedric Diggory, you must Draco Malfoy." Draco nodded and returned his handshake. Cedric took a seat next to Draco and smiled at them.

After his conversation with Carina in the bookstore, Cedric began to wonder what it would feel like if the unapproachable Malfoy twins trusted him as did with each other. Everybody in Hufflepuff, and the other Houses, admired and some even envied the strong loyalty and compassion that the Malfoy twins held for each other. However, as he was thinking, he realized that Draco and Carina Malfoy were cautious with other people, they did not have any friends just followers and admirers.

He began to pity them, it was known that the Malfoy family were like royalties in the pureblood community and all the Slytherins, even the older ones seem like they wanted to win their favors. Cedric remembered watching them from afar and he could see that under those pureblood features they truly felt alone, as if they had no one but each other and sadly that was almost true. Blame his Hufflepuff heart, but he was determined to be their friend even though he is certain that he will get frowned at by his other friends in his House. He was determined to make them see the world in a different view from the ones that they were growing into.
