Chapter Six: A Crush?

There she was. Princess Elise was wrapping the last bandage on a woman sorceress's arm. She giggled and the lady stood up, feeling her joints. She thanked the young princess and walked back home. Elise stood up and wiped her brow. She turned around and saw you awkwardly standing there, holding a staff close to you. That's where her spare heal went! She was looking for it everywhere!

"Woah, you can use staves too!? Only Corrin And Silas can use multiple weapons! You're so awesome (your name)!"

Elise cheered and walked over to you. She held out her hand expectantly. You were confused for a moment, that is until you realized exactly what she wanted. You handed over the staff and she flashed you a smile before returning to her beloved horse and strapping the extra staff on the side. That's when Elise smirked. She was wondering when she would get the perfect time to ask you this. Sure, she may not know you well, but she needed something to be excited over. Romance just happens to take the cake for the best things to fangirl on! Plus, Felicia would love the juicy gossip. 

"Sooooooooo. I just have to know. Do you like anyone yet? I see you talking to Arthur and Odin  lot~"

Oh no, that tone of voice. You never wanted to hear it out of Elise a gain. It sounded too much like Niles. And the fact she was suggesting you had a crush this early in meeting everybody in Corrin's title ragtag army. As well as her asking it right after so much violence and an immense amount of healing? You just were overstimulated. You'd never have so much going on back in Izumo. It would be nice if you could get used to all this in a magic snap of your fingers, but that's not how divination works.

"Well, uh..."

You felt your face hear up, the blood boiling underneath your skin and heating your straight to your cheekbones. There's no way someone can develop a crush this quickly! Love at first sight doesn't exist! Well, unless you meet your soulmate but you already have a very unlikely chance of ever meeting that person in your lifespan. You looked at your fingers, curling around some cloth on your clothes out of nervous habit. Elise was wriggling her eyebrows, and so was Niles. Wait. Niles!?

"Niles!? When did you get here?!"

Niles chuckled, looking at Elise. The two simply high fived. They had you embarrassed in front of them. That's when it hit you. Niles was in on it too! They both were trying to figure out if you had a crush on anyone else! This was all In their devious little plan! You expect this from Niles, but not from the precious little Elise! You crossed your arms and pouted at both of them, glaring towards their smug expressions.

"You both just want to know to either embarrass me or tease me about it, right? Not happening. Sorry."

You turned around and started to walk away. Alright, you'll admit to yourself that Odin as kind of cute and fascinating and you really liked him, maybe that's way If you stretch it. Arthur was completely platonic and if not that an idolistic relationship going on there. You can see yourself, however, being with Odin. He was nice funny, used cool words, and was unique compared to everyone else. Even if not for the short while you knew him, he made you feel right at home. Like you were back in Izumo, writing poetry at the table with Mom for a school assignment when you were a wee five year old. Or reading stories at bedtime with Dad. Kinda like that, with all the talk of the darkness he does. It kinda made you smile.

You were just walking through the snow when you caught sight of Corrin and Silas with Felicia. They were laughing and having a good time. Rather not bother them. Then Effie went stomping by angrily toward where you were walking away from. Niles was in trouble. Arthur stumbled along behind her, but fell in the ice and got stuck. He sighed and just sat there for a second, like it should be expected by now. You giggled. It was just the dynamic of everyone around here. The Your eyes met with the striking blue ones again. 

"Ah! My companion of th darkness returns from a meeting with the land's princess! You've returned the item of Devine healing power to its rightful owner?"

You nodded, flashing him a big smile. The cold faded away a little bit again and you felt right at home yet again. It really made you think. Was Elise right? Well, Elise and Niles. Did you actually have a crush on Odin? No. Impossible. It's impossible to be crushing on someone so early after meeting them! It just isnt possible without them being your soulmate! The stars didn't say anything about a soulmate residing in Nohr! Just a good future! There's no way! You snapped back into reality after a single moment of denial. Odin was confused, but you simply shook it off with a wave.

"So, uh, Odin. It seems everybody else's already has their little friend groups already pointed out. Perhaps you and I could be talking buddies or something."

You shrugged, thinking it as no big deal. But the way he sprung up to the halls of his feet and the way his smile shot up from that perplexed expression previously painted on his face made it seem like a super huge deal. He clapped his hands in front of his chest cutely, like they do in those animes. He grinned wide.

"Yes! Discussion buddies to discuss the dark matter, bending of words, and whatever topic you wish to bring up into our conversations that will remain everlasting in our hearts and minds!"

You're heart swelled and you felt a warm pulse in your body. Damn he was cute when he was excited, and you rarely curse! Especially in your personal thoughts! You clutched your hand with a large bundle of your robe so inside to prevent yourself from doing anything stupid. What that stupid thing was? You have no clue. But what you did know is that you felt like this man right here was your freaking soulmate. You grinned right back at him, not noticing the blush in his cheeks this Time.

"Yeah, everlasting."

You looked down for a moment. Yeah. Elise and Niles were right. You hated to admit it, but you have a crush on Odin Dark already.
