You obediently followed Corrin I to the fortress, having a bad feeling about it. This Place reeked of bad omens and energy. You stood at the mouth of the gate while everyone else went inside to look around. Didn't somebody say that this fortress is the reminant of what once was a dragon? If so you are going to respect the dragon and stay out of their insides, knowing it may be uncomfortable for their spirit. Odin Dark, your talking buddy and crush, was the only one to notice your reluctance. He stepped out of the fortress and walked up beside you, trying to look up and see what you were seeing. Alas, he didn't understand, so he was forced to ask.
"Is something amiss fair Maiden of Twilight?"
Maiden of Twilight? You're no Maiden of Twilight. But it made your heart happy to know that Odin cared for you. You looked up in the eyes of the fortress. You just got bad vibes all around. That's when a motion caught the corner of your eye. Taking out a scroll, you turned around and saw a hoarde of Hoshidans. You can tell by the bright red flag that adorned their sleeve. Not another fight. You loathe violence so. However, you must fight. The magic flooded your veins and a quick burst of energy pushed the three back. You could finally see the lot. An archer, a lancer, and a swordsman.
"WE GOT COMPANY!!!"
You screeched out, hoping those inside the fortresss would hear it. Odin grabbed his Romeo, ready for a fight. The archer's arrow slung by, nearly grazing your shoulder. In response to oh shoot back a spell that could knock him out for now, using all your power to keep ot that way through the long range. You hardly had time to notice the lancer and swordsman rushing up to decapitate you. You didn't have time to dodge, not even seeing them. You were lucky that bolts of thunder struck them either down or backwards, buying you time. Thank you Odin Dark.
Retreating back a few steps, you find your balance to make another spell that would end this little dispute. Then you can check for the others inside, as much as you hate the idea. With the power of critical hits making it to your fingertips, you launched a spell thst mixed with Odin's Thunder. Breathing heavily, you watched as all three men fall to the ground. Rolling everything, you ran up to them to check for their pulse. Using two fingers on their wrist, you were resting assured knowing that they all still had a heartbeat. Odin was confused and hurried by your side to figure out what you're doing.
"Gracious, that gave me a heart attack. Thank the gods they aren't dead. Just unconscious. Odin, could you run and see how everyone in the fort is doing? I'll be there in a minute."
Silently, he obliged and obeyed your command. You didn't expect to take such a leadership role in this scenario, but hey life happens. You reached in your Fanny pack, looking for some sort of remedy to take any pain away from the soldiers. You can't give away your last concoction. You sadly looked at the fallen Hoshidans and continued onwards, running towards the dragon's mouth. You saw Niles jump in to protect Elise in the last second, wounding him. A flash of magic then spout out, a thunderous roar booming throughout the fortress. You cringed and looked up at the Dragon.
"I'm sorry."
You ran inside to aide your friends. Corrin and two other women you didn't quite recongnize were fighting off an onslaught of lancers while arrows flew at them from an unrecognizable distance. Effie and Silas were out of sight, but could be heard. It was absolute chaos and pandemonium. You noticed that someone was about to slice off Niles's Head whiled being healed by Elise. You couldn't let that happen. Worth a strike of your scroll the lancer was delayed. Going right into action, you stood between the lancer and Niles. Niles obviously was extremely surprised by the courage you displayed.
With a flicker of the tome and a spark of magic, you launched an attack that spread into four pressure points, disabling the lancer. He fell to the ground. You were lucky the spirit in your scroll was merciful. You silently thanked the spirit in the scroll for that magical ability and you turned to make sure Niles was alright. But before you could ask, the battle caught back up to you. You felt a sharp pain and knelt down. You turned and you noticed that you had an arrow stuck in tourney shoulder blade. Swinging yourself around, you shot an arrow of magic in that direction, it hit the wall and fazed out. Blood trickled down. You can't let a single arrow break you, even if your defense is extremely low.
"(Name)! Hold still, I have to heal you!"
Princess Elise's voice shrieked in your ears. No. You have to keep protecting everyone. You launched another wall of divination magic at a particular axeman who was getting too close for comfort. Another arrow from in front launched itself and hit you in the knee. Wow, what a wonderful Skyrim reference. You fell on your side and a stray swing of magic hit the wall, expanding and hitting a few enemies. Darn. You started to get light headed. Two hits, is that really all you can take? You're so weak.
"(NAME)!!!"
You couldn't recongnize the voice, but it certainly wasn't Elise's. It was masculine, but higher than Niles's. Odin? You tried to lift yourself off the ground, having some more fight left in you. You looked up and saw only the ceiling of the worn dragon's remains. This fortress used to be a living thing. Spirit, give you strength. You could feel Elise's staff and the magic heal your wounds, but the arrows were in the way. You reached over with your free hand to try and pluck the arrow out, but no use. The stem broke off, leaving the arrowheads lodged into your shoulder. You laid your head back down, feeling another sharp pain. Luckily, the arrow grazed over your head. You only had a scrape. The blood loss was getting to you.
"Hold on, Merciful Princess, I shall escort you away for now."
You felt your limp body being picked up, white hot pain surging through your body. The last thing you saw before losing your own consciousness were the kind colbalr eyes you only knew Odin Dark to own.
