Chapter 40

            As seconds turned to hours,hours to days, and days to weeks, doctors began to lose hope for Emma's recovery. They have seen many go into comas and not many returns. All but her family and Regina thought she wasn't going to make it. Slowly David and Mary Margret were sure they would never see their beautiful daughter, even though they hoped that they would. Her parents slowly started to not come in as often as they did before,not because that they didn't love her, but because it became far to painful to see their their beloved baby girl hooked up to wires and tubes. Mary Margret and David entered the room and as they entered Regina walked out.

*flashback*

           About a week after the accident, Mary Margret storms into Emma's room clearly upset, with David rushing in behind her. "Honey, this is not the time nor the place to do this, think about it." David said in a hush hush voice. Mary Margret whipped around angerly. "No I am not going to think about it, David if I dont say this now I will never never say it, and trust me I need t say it.

      Regina just sat there confused as to what was going on. She looked at Mary Margret, "Is there a problem Mary Margret?" Regina asked . "As a matter of fact there is a problem!" Mary Margret said with a mixture of hurt and anger in her voice. Regina began to feel really concerned for Mary Margret, "well out with it dear, no need to keep things bottled up! What's the problem?" Mary Margret looked dead into Regina's eyes and took a deep breath. "YOU! YOUR THE PROBLEM!" She screams at Regina. Regina rises to her feet offended. "EXCUSE ME, you think I am the problem. Oh please explain to me how you think I am the problem!" Regina yelled quietly back at her. Mary Margret's face began to turn a bright red."How ignorant can you be, to not even know how you are the problem! I'll give you a hint! Look where we are Regina, look who is fighting for her life. If it wasn't for you we wouldn't be here!" Regina took a sharp breath in. "Wait let me get this straight, you think I am the reason we are here?" Marry Margret nodded her head. "You must be fucking delusional, how is this my fault? Shall I remind you that I am not the one who provided her with the alcohol, nor was I the one who encouraged her to drink and drive! That was Vanessa. So maybe instead of blaming me you should find her and tell her how you feel!" Regina stated angrily. "That may be true but if you never broken her heart because she was trying to be a good girlfriend none of this would have happened! She would still be here laughing like she used to. So yes, I blame you!" Tears started to flow down Regina's cheek like a waterfall from her eyes. Regina already thought in her head that it was her fault, but hearing someone else say it was Regina's fault brought a whole new level of guilt that Regina didn't think she could even feel. Yes maybe she should have tried to talk to her more. Should have tried harder. She thought Mary Margret of all people wouldn't blame her. She thought that Mary Margret would give her this whole big speech about how she will pull through and make it, and keep the faith and have hope that she will wake up, but she was wrong! Regina ran past Mary Margret out of the room to her car and drove home. She just wanted to sleep, forever!

Meanwhile at the hospital David turns to his wife "I hope you feel good about yourself!" David said sarcastically. "What do you mean?" Mary Margaret said with an anoyoed tone in her voice. David sighed and shook his head. "What I mean is she already feels guilty and blames herself. You can see it in her eyes. She is always here holding her hand or talking to her and just sitting in silence praying that she wakes up! I told you that this was not the time or place but did you listen? No you never do! You just went along and did it anyway. Emma heard everything! I said that this should have been done in private! God forbid something happens to Regina, it will be your fault Mary Margret!" David said sternly.
*End of flash back*
Regina goes into the lobby and grabs her a coffee. The coffee here is bad but she doesn't want to leave the hospital Incase something happens. A few hours went by and Mary Margret and david met her in the lobby. Regina didn't look up. She just stared at her coffee cup and waiting till she saw them leave out of the corner of her eye but she didn't see them. She looked up and MaryMargret was sitting in front her her with this sad look in her eyes. "Regina can we talk?" Mary Margret asked calmly. " look Snow, I am not really in the mood for you to remind me that you think this is all my fault. I have enough of that on my own thank you!" Regina said as she tried to stand up but Mary Margret grabbed her hand. "Please Regina, I want to apologize. I should have never said that to you! I don't think this is your fault. I was just so angry that Emma wasn't here and I just needed someone to blame and I know that is no excuse for the way I acted. I am not asking for you to forgive me right this moment. I just want you to know how sorry I am for everything that was said." Mary Margret then got up and walked out of the hospital. Regina just sat there thinking about everything that Snow just said. A couple of hours had past while her knowledge. Regina got up and went to Emma's room and basically fell to floor in tears. The sight before her was one she only long to see. Emma was laying down and the doctors were starting the process of removing the tubes from Emma. The doctors said what they had to and then said that they were going to call her parents. As the doctor and nurses left, Emma say a dark figure on the floor. With years in her eyes, It took her some time to realize that it was Regina. "Gina, what are you doing on the floor?" Emma said in a very raspy vooce. Regina didn't answer. She just starred at Emma. "Your awake?" Regina said with a tremble in her voice. Tears puddling in her eyes. "Yes I am awake. And I want to talk to you!" But before any words came out of either ones mouth Regina jumped up and ran to Emma and gave her a huge hug. Regina wrapped her arms around Emma and held on tight. "I thought I was never going to see you again! You had me so scared!" Regina said with full blown tears in her eyes. Emma just sat there and held onto Regina while she cried also. "Regina I am so sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen! I should have listened to you when you were trying to talk to me! This is all m fault." Regina shook her head, "No baby, this is my fault. I should have never gotten mad at you. All you did was try to help me through a hard time. I should have never called you a child in the first place! I do love you and this whole thing had just broke my heart. Me thinking that I will never see you again. I don't ever wants this to happen again!" Emma nodded and just looked at Regina. "I am so sorry for startling you. Hell I scared myself. I thought that the one person I was wanting to see I would never see again!" Emma captured Regina's lips on hers. And just like that they were back in sync with each other like no time had passed. When they pulled apart Regina smacked Emma on the arm. "OW! What was that for?" Emma said rubbing her arm. "For drinking and driving! That was dumb! I'm not saying It for lack of other words it was really dumb! You could have died!" Regina said still crying. "I know, I am sorry that I did!" "I'm not going to say it's ok because it isn't! It's never ok to drink and drive but I will say I accept your apology! Please, next time, use that pretty little head of yours!" Emma nodded and laughed!
Regina and Emma cuddled for a little bit longer then got interrupted by her parents rushing in. Regina moved to the chair so that Mary Margret and David could cuddle Emma. Both of them had tears in their eyes which made Emma start crying. "We thought we lost you! Emma, how could you be so stupid! We don't drink and drive! Ever! You know this!" David chuckled while he was crying. "Dear? Why don't we just be glad that she is alive and then scold her afterwards!" Emma smiled. "Thank you!" David gave her a stern look. "Listen here young lady, don't think that because we are happy you are safe and alive doesn't mean you are not getting punished! We will discuss your punishment when you get out of the hospital. But I am glad that you are alive! I love you!" Emma smiled! "I'm glad to be punished. I'd rather be punished, then not be here with you at all! I love you too all of you!" Emma said smiling at the three most important people in the world.

Hours later Mary Margret and David went home and Regina stayed behind. "So I guess when you get out your punished. What are you going to do?" Regina asked. "Easy." Emma said with a cocky smile on her face! "Never leave the hospital!" Emma said them laughed. Regina joined in the laughing. Then leaned in for a kiss. "If you ever scare me like this again, I'll kill you myself!" Regina did an evil laugh! "God I love the way you evil laugh!" Emma laughed. "And I love you!" Regains said kissing her cheek. "I love you too!" Emma said. Both girls curled up to each other and fell asleep in each other's arms!

So I don't know where to go with this story after this. I don't want to give it up but I don't know what else to do. Comment or message me what you think should happen next!
