Alden heard the scream. And saw a man leave the alleyway the sound had traveled from. He darted around the corner, seeing another man slumped against the wall, a stab wound clear in his abdomen.
Using his current medical training, he set to work. He applied pressure to the wound to get some of the bleeding under control, using his hooded jacket. Alden would just buy a new one, saving this man's life was far more important. He continually reassured the man that he'd be okay. He moved his hoodie to check how the wound looked. It was pretty bad, blood still oozing out a little.
Alden noticed a scar above the man's right eyebrow. Exactly the same spot where he'd gotten a scar as a kid for bumping into a tree. Then, he looked down to the man's left forearm. Another scar was there, this one not his. But yet again, Alden bore its identical twin.
There was a small moment of tingling on his own abdomen, and Alden knew what that meant. He briefly lifted his shirt, and saw the scar of the wound of this man's stabbing appear in the same spot.
"Alright, I'm going to call for an ambulance now. I'm not fit to save lives on my own..." Alden told the man, but muttering that last part to himself. He dialed 911 and held the phone to his ear apprehensively.
When an operator picked up, he did his best to calmly explain what happened and what's going on.
"Do you have any relation to the victim?" The operator asked. Alden looked into the man's fatigued, yet grateful eyes.
"He's my soulmate." He replied, giving a small smile.
The only AU so far where only one character was named, and also the one with the least amount of dialogue :P just some fun little trivia!!
I wrote this in a record time of 15 minutes so it's a shame I spent too long sitting on my bed nodding off and getting tired...
