And here we are...the last of the five soulmate AUs... honestly after talking with CinnamonLeaf21 about ideas for this one, it has become my favorite out of the five

Alden took his seat in front of his computer screen as the video call rang. He was filled with anxiety, listening to the repetitive sound of the outgoing ring. Today was the day that he and his online friend Dillon, were going to show each other their tattoos.

Only one small problem...

Alden didn't have one. He'd looked everywhere over his body several times. Everywhere. He didn't want to know what Dillon's reaction would be, it scared him to think about it. Would he be angry at him for lying about having one? Would he just shut him out afterwards? Would he make fun of him?

He didn't have much more time to worry, as the ringing stopped, and Dillon's chiseled face filled his screen.

"Hey, Al." The ginger boy said with a small wave. Alden tugged at his shirt collar. Was it hot in his room?

"Uh, he-hey, Dillon!" He greeted, trying to keep the anxiousness out of his voice. Dillon raised an eyebrow and leaned closer to his own monitor.

"Alden? Are you...feeling alright?" He asked. "You seem a little..." he paused, looking down, and grabbing something, "melon-choly" he finished, holding up an entire watermelon. Alden let out a literal wheeze.

"Did you seriously lug that whole melon to your room just to make that joke on the slim chance that I'd answer this call looking upset?" Alden asked. Dillon stared blankly, then looked away.

"Maybe..." he admitted.

"Well, you're right. I am a bit...upset. It's because of this whole tattoo thing-."

"Oh right! The tattoos! Shit, sorry for cutting you off!" Dillon quickly apologized.

"Oh, it's fine, dude. Wanna go first?" Alden offered. When Dillon accepted he internally sighed with relief. At least I'll have more time to prepare the truth... He thought.

"Okay, so," Dillon began removing his shirt, to which Alden looked away, squeezing his eyes shut.

"Jesus! Dillon Holt, WHAT are you doing?!" Alden cried. After a few seconds, he stopped hiding his eyes, and peeks at his screen, seeing a shirtless Dillon sitting there, confused.

"Just showing you my tattoo, don't worry. We aren't getting NSFW up in here." As soon as he said that, he looked to his left, and groaned. Two younger kids ran into his room behind him. The girl was chasing the boy around, and they were both laughing.

"Katie! Matt! Get out of my room!" Dillon shouted at them. Two two little carrot tops scurried out of frame, and Alden heard the bedroom door close.

"Sorry about them, they're always causing me grief. Anyways, my tattoo. It's on my left shoulder. I've only been able to properly see it in photos. But, it's two stars with their sides overlapping. Pretty cool, huh?" He asked, winking.

"Awesome..." Alden marveled. Dillon slipped his shirt back on, then bounced up and down in his seat.

"Okay, now show me yours! Show me yours!" He encouraged excitedly. Alden closed his eyes.

"I...I don't h-have one..." He shakily admitted. All the teasing he'd received from his peers, made him fear what was coming next.

"You don't?" Dillon replied, his voice soft with sympathy for the saddened boy.

"Nope, it's true...all my life I've never...Huh?" Alden stared at his right wrist. Black lines started drawing along his skin. He rubbed at them, but the didn't smudge. Was he...forming a soulmate tattoo?

"Al? You okay? Al??" Dillon grew concerned over the lack of a response. Alden slowly looked back to the camera.

"Dillon...there's been this thought floating in my mind since we first start video chatting." Alden began. Dillon egged him on with a look.

"I think...I have feelings for you. When I first saw your face, your wonderful green eyes, that soft looking red hair, your, uh, broad chest...I didn't know if it was right to feel that way when we barely knew each other. So I pushed them away. Before that, I never really was attracted to anyone, so I never had a tattoo. Until now. I guess...finally admitting to myself that I have feelings for you, made it possible for my tattoo to form." Dillon's eyes widened.

"Wait...are you saying-?" Dillon cut himself off as Alden lifted his wrist up to the camera, revealing two stars overlapping each other on the sides.

"Hey, soulmate." Alden said, almost laughing with pure glee. Dillon smiled widely.

"Hey there." Dillon winked, making sure to look extra seductive.

"Alright, you big flirt. Now that we know this, we have to meet up." Alden suddenly realized.

"When and where? I'm down for it." Dillon replied enthusiastically. Alden sighed.

"Dillon..."

"What?"

"We're halfway across the county from each other. I think we're gonna have to talk with our parents about this first."

"Oh...right. Hehe...my bad!"

Hmm I wonder who Katie and Matt are a reference to?🤔🤔🤔

Peace out my dudes!✌🏻🍪
