Undertaker's POV
His grip on you got tighter as his eyes scanned the documents in his hand one more time. This is gonna be one hell of trouble should the Earl learn about this. But then again, there were only two possible things to do – one, to do nothing and two, inform him about what he's learned. The first option was tempting since it would give him time to spend with you but on the other hand, it would only end bad in the long run. He cursed inwardly, just when he finally claimed you for himself, everything had to go south. Typical. He smirked bitterly and leaned down to kiss the crown of your head, to inhale your calming scent. He had to get to the Phantomhive manor as soon as possible, but how could he just leave you here? It was too dangerous. Then again, taking you with him was even more so. He straighten up again and looked at you. You were so beautiful, looking at him like he was the sun and stars, blushing slightly. He needed to protect you and if it meant leaving for a bit, he must do it.
He sighed and petted your hair. "I need to take care of something, will you please stay in the shop?" he asked apologetically and cupped your cheek. He knew the moments your brows furrowed it will not be easy. "No? You said we needed to visit Ciel and, well, we should get the police or someone?" You shifted uncomfortably, still standing only a few feet away from the dead man on the street. How fortunate you were used to seeing dead bodies. He deadpanned, how could he forget about that? You were making his brain a mess. "Well, yes, but you see," he said as led you back to the relative safety of the shop, "this whole situations could turn into quite on ordeal easily." He closed the door and motioned for you to sit on one of the coffins. You obeyed while crossing your arms, pouting slightly. If it was hard not to kiss you before, now it took a whole new level of self-control. He could do it though, for you. "I just can't see what's the problem. Why don't we get the police and let them do their thing?" you murmured looking at him innocently. If only you knew what you were doing to him and how hard he had to fight the urge to just pull you into his arms and forget about everything. Surely it was not too late to pack your things and leave to countryside and live there anonymously? It could work if it wasn't for the demon. They always have to ruin everything, don't they? He sighed and stepped closer to you, standing between your legs but keeping his distance not to scare you. He leaned down and rested his forehead against yours. "Just trust me please? I don't like this either but we can't rely on police, or anyone really, we got ourselves into pretty dangerous position and need to act quickly," he said weakly, the guilt of dragging you into this weighting down on him. It truly would be for the best if you had just rejected him like everyone else. At least that way you'd be safe, safer than you were now anyway. He risked a look into your eyes and saw the confusion and fear, but among all else, also trust. "Fine," you sighed and nodded against him before looking up again. Your [e/c] orbs will be the death of him. "But you better explain everything once you get back, everything, you hear!" You threatened with raised finger, looking serious but he could see you were afraid. "Sure, my dear," he smiled weakly and kissed your forehead. "I need to go now," he whispered and linger just a while longer before stepping out of your personal space. "I will return as soon as possible and until then, please, stay here. I'll lock the door and you don't open to anyone, alright? Not even if you heard my voice," he said, looking you dead in the eye. Right now he couldn't be too careful. You nodded and followed him to the door. "Adrian... please be careful," you pleaded quietly, looking at him puppy-eyed. He chuckled and stroked your cheek gently, weak from hearing you call his name. "Nothing would stop me from returning to my precious treasure," he reassured you, giving one last kiss on forehead before closing the door behind him and locking the door.
The first thing he had to deal with was the dead body. For now, one of the coffins outside of the shop would suffice. He hid the body there, in one hidden in the shadows so the sun would quicken its decay, and set out on his journey to the mansion. It didn't take long since he used his training from his old days as Shinigami and shortened his way by jumping from roof to roof. Walking through the front gate, he hoped he wasn't late. The attacker must have run straight to his employer, tell him what happened, let him process the information and that alone should give him enough time, then of course everything depended on what the employer would do. He sighed slightly as he knocked on the door, bracing himself. He needed to handle this well or else your life could be at stake and he didn't like that possibility at all. Especially not now when he didn't even had the opportunity to prove himself to you.
The door opened, dragging him out of his thoughts. Behind them stood no one else than the damned butler himself. It was all his fault, had it not been for him, Undertaker could just run from the city, the country even, with you and start anew. Sebastian eyed him suspiciously. It was like this ever since he learned what Undertaker was exactly. After all, their species weren't at the best terms. "Undertaker, what a surprise. What brings you to the Phantomhive manor?" he asked, carefully watching other man's every move. The demon did not move away from the door thus prevented him from entering. He narrowed his eyes at the butler. "I have an urgent business to discuss with your master," he kept his tone light and playful as always although his whole body was tense, ready to fight should the need arise. "I see, let me just-" Sebastian was cut off by a phone ringing shortly somewhere in the manor, the Earl presumably picking it up. That's not good. Undertaker hoped he was just being paranoid but his intuition told him better. "I apologize, this should be just a while," Sebastian smiled politely, keeping the façade of butler perfectly in place. The seconds ticked and Undertaker was already getting ready to bolt before it was too late, preparing the quickest and shortest route back to the shop in his mind. Adrenaline was flowing in his blood in excess amount and every little sound or movement was enough to make his eyes flinch. Good he had the bangs to cover them. The atmosphere between the Shinigami and the Demon was tense anyway, Sebastian felt something was up.
"Sebastian!" Both men looked into the manor to see Ciel standing at the top of the stairs. "Sebastian, stop Undertaker right away, he must not-" he didn't hear the whole sentence, but bolted right off, picking up speed quickly. Sebastian was on his tail, he needed to slow him down. He threw his sotoba at him every time it would give him a boost in combination with the terrain. Soon he was able to get away for long enough to hide for a bit and change his direction so he would be at the shop first and had a chance to get you.
Your POV
Too nervous to do anything, you spent the whole time pacing in the main room, thinking about what the hell was going on. It had to be serious with Undertaker being so secretive and tense about it. You sighed for the countless time.
Suddenly there was a loud bang and you jumped at the sound. Your eyes met with the lime ones of your employer-slash-boyfriend. The door hanged uselessly, ripped off its hinges. "We need to go, now!" He said breathlessly, still he was obviously relieved to see you unharmed. Before you had the chance to protest or say anything, he scooped you up into his arms, pulling you to his chest in bridal style and ran again. You wanted to protest, maybe even fight back but the desire left you the moment you saw Sebastian only a few paces behind you. His eyes shone in devilish fuchsia color.
