"We're gonna get you a babysitter, end of story"
"Why??? The babysitter just sits on her phone all day, that's what we do! You can trust us!" Dayne said, in a whining voice. Undyne rolled her eyes. "Hey punk, if I couldnt trust you for 1 hour, what makes you think I could trust you for 1 night?" Undyne asked, Dayne groaned. "Mom! I'm 10 now, I'm not a baby! I can take care of myself" Dayne said, Undyne laughed. "You can fight, I'll admit... Babysit your Cousins? Ha!" Undyne grabbed her purse, Dayne raced to the door and blacked it. "You adults go out and have your fun, trust me on this!" Dayne said, Undyne shook her head. "Sorry punk, unless someone older agrees to watch you, your getting a babysitter" Undyne looked down at Dayne, Dayne thought for a moment. "Uncle Gaster can babysit us! He's home anyways" Dayne said, smiling. Asgore walked downstairs, having listened to this conversation before. "TINY PAPYRUS? HE'S THE SAME EXACT AGE AS YOU...." Asgore said, Dayne smiled. "You guys said someone older, technically speaking... He should've been 19 or 18 had he not died.. so he is 'technically' older" Dayne said, Undyne and Asgore looked at each other. "HE ISNT WRONG" Asgore said, Undyne shrugged. "Listen punk, if Sans and Paps trust their little bro to watch 6 kids tonight, I'll trust him too" Undyne said, Dayne smiled. "Yes! Let's go! Come on!" He said, pulling on Undyne's arm. Undyne and Asgore followed Dayne to the car, they drove over to the park... Where Sans and everybody else was at currently. Dayne raced through the sidewalk, running towards Gaster. He grabbed his shoulders, then faced Gaster so he was facing him. "DO YOU TRUST YOURSELF!?" Dayne asked, Gaster flinched. "What?" He asked, Dayne shook him. "ANSWER THE QUESTION!" He said, Gaster shook his head. "Uh... I don't know...? With what?" Dayne let go, he looked at Gaster. "Mom and Dad said you can watch us if Uncle Sans and Uncle Papyrus trusts you" Dayne said, Toriel tapped his shoulder. "So should you ask the adult, if we trust him?" Toriel asked, Dayne nodded.
"I dunno... He's always been watched, never watched someone before" Sans said, he was sitting on a bench. A frog was sitting on his lap. Toriel looked at Sans, and shook her head. "To be fair, I don't think I trust myself" Gaster pointed out, Dayne laughed. "Nonsense! You'll do fine!" Dayne said, punching him on the arm. Gaster chuckled, rubbing his arm. "Uncle Sans, he's your brother! You trust him, right?" Dayne looked at Sans, who had three more frogs on him. "Yeah fair, I can trust him to do chores around the castle many years ago" Sans said, Dayne smiled. "So tonight while you guys are on your dates, Uncle Gaster can watch us!" Dayne smiled, Gaster froze. "Uh.... I didn't agree to that-" "See? Even he trusts himself!" Dayne smiled, Gaster just shrugged... "Alright, Gaster will watch you guys tonight" Undyne said, Dayne smiled. "What???" Gaster asked, Berlin shrugged.
~Later that night~
The adults were in the car, only Sans was still the in the house looking for his keys. "Emergency numbers are the fridge if you need them, Don't let the kids cook by themselves, uh... Make sure to feed them at 8pm and have them in bed or at their houses by 9:30pm" Sans said, he stood by the doorway. Gaster was in front of him, trying to process what was happening. "Uh... They can't go outside after 7pm, and Berlin has homework so make sure he gets that done... I'll be checking in every hour, okay?" Sans said, looking at Gaster. Without even knowing what Sans said, Gaster just nodded. "Great! I'll see you kids in the morning, see you at 11pm Gaster" Sans waved to Gaster and the kids, they waved back. As soon as the door shut, Dayne collasped on his back. "Are you okay?" Gaster asked, Dayne nodded lazily. "Finally! A night without a babysitter!" Dayne smiled, Eras rolled her eyes. "What's so bad about a babysitter?" Purrla asked, Dayne looked at her. "Your telling me, you NEVER had a baby sitter?" Dayne asked her, Purrla looked at Berlin then shook her head. "My Mom is always home, so I never really get left alone..." Purrla said, Dayne facepalmed. "Back in the underground, I was never by myself. If Sans and Papy couldn't find anybody to leave with me, they'd go to another au" Gaster said, turning the TV on.
"AU? What's that?" Eras asked, looking at Gaster. "AU? It stands for Alternate Universe. There are tons of them, the ones Sans, Papyrus, Toriel interact with mostly is... Alterreap, Alterfell, and Alterswap... Rarely Undertale itself" Gaster explained, the kids nodded. "Alterreap? Alterfell? Alterswap? What are those?" Berlin asked, his hands in his pockets. "Alterreap is a Universe where basically everybody here is a god or a goddess... Like There is Sans who is God of Life, and Toriel who is Goddess of Death... Uh... Alterfell is a Universe where Everybody is all... Terrifying and mean... Alterswap is simple, Sans is the King and Papyrus takes Sans place and everybody has swapped places." Gaster explained, it made the kids less confused. "Why don't you show us?" Fortune asked, Gaster hesitated. "Uh... I don't know... Sans said he'll be checking in every hour, if something happened...." Dayne chuckled, resting his hand on Gaster's shoulder. "Don't you worry about it, We'll be fine! Just show us those 3 AUs and we'll return before ya know it" Dayne smiled, Gaster looked away. "I don't know... Travelling through AUs is not something to mess with, I don't want to risk losing you" Gaster said, Dayne rolled his eyes. "Don't worry, we'll be fine! We'll just have to stick together, what's the worst that could happen?" Dayne asked...
"Actually-"
"Don't answer that!"
"Please Uncle Gaster?" Dayne asked, Gaster looked away. "You guys have chores to do, and Berlin has homework" Gaster said, he trailed off after looking at the kids. "Fine..." He admitted, the girls cheered. "Rules though, at least" Gaster said, the kids nodded. "1. If I end up leaving an AU without you, do not go anywhere... Whoever is in that AU, except Alterfell, will watch you... 2. Do not run ahead, you guys are new to these AUs and I can't risk losing anybody... 3. If we go to Alterfell, do not leave my side at all! Alterfell is a dangerous and scary AU" Gaster said, the kids nodded. "Sans has a remote somewhere that controls the portals..." Gaster said, looking around. He looked at the top shelf. "Of course, it's on a higher place..." Gaster groaned, Dayne chuckled. He jumped up and grabbed the remote, then handed it to Gaster. "Thanks... Where should we go first?" Gaster asked, turning the remote on. Eras thought for a moment, Fortune smiled. "How about Alterswap? You said it was a simple AU, right?" Purrla asked, Gaster nodded. He opened a portal in the living room, he turned to the kids. "Stay calm guys, it may seem strange at first... I promise it'll be fun... You guys go first" Gaster said, Berlin and Purrla walked through. Eras followed, then the twins and finally Dayne. Gaster was the last to walk through, closing the portal behind them...
