„MJ!"
______Peter didn't understand, why Tony had said that. He was worried that something's happening to his mentor. Did the adult know that something bad is happening? Peter just hoped that everything's going to be alright. But the thought of losing another father figure, he couldn't take it. He knew that if Tony dies -which he hoped not to- he wouldn't be himself again. He knew he would try to isolate himself and wouldn't go out anymore. He lost so many people in his life, and he was just fifteen. Fifteen. He still wasn't over Ben's death. And he knew would never be over it. It still hurts him. And knowing that Aunt May lost her husband, too, was something that made him even sadder.
The next day at school, Ned and Peter sat in the cafeteria, on their usual seats. They had been informed that there's going to be a science fair at their school and everyone could participate. The guy in the chair told Peter to do a science project, but Peter declined it by saying that he hadn't got time for any projects.
"What's wrong with you, Peter?", his best friend asked, a concern in his voice. The boy sighed, he needed to tell Ned everything. He promised him that he would.
"Mr. Stark called me to the Avengers compound, yesterday.", he started, seeing that Ned's eyes widened.
"You- you met them again. That's so cool. Did you, you know, tell them about me, being your guy in the chair?", Ned asked, fangirling about the news he just got. But would you blame him, it's not an everyday thing to meet earths mightiest Hero's.
"I hadn't got the chance. They want me to come back today.", he continued, turning his head to his lunch.
"Whoa, You're so lucky. Do you think I can come with you? Being your moral support.", his best friend grinned. But Peter shook his head, taking all his hopes of meeting Black Widow and Captain America.
"Oh, okay.", Ned's head hung low. He expected Peter to say 'yes', but he was disappointed by his answer.
Meanwhile MJ listened to them, and knew that her suspicions about who could be Spider-Man were right. She didn't want to eavesdrop, but since they both didn't know how to whisper, it was hard not to. Closing her book loudly, taking the boys attention, she sighed and stood up. She sat down on the seat in front of Peter.
"You two really don't know how to whisper. Want me to explain it to you?", she said, looking at them with a raised brow.
"Excuse me?", Ned said, not knowing what she meant. He looked to Peter, seeing he was frozen.
Peter was freaking out. She knows. How? She heard them. That's bad, that's really bad.
"I heard everything that you two just said. You really need to learn how to whisper. It's annoying when I try to read my book.", she said, glaring at them.
"What's with Peter?", she asked, after she realized that he didn't said anything. Ned shrugged.
"Anyways, I won't tell anyone about it. But try to keep it quiet. Thank you.", with that, the girl stood up and walked out of the cafeteria.
Ned followed her with his eyes, and after she was gone, he turned back to Peter and shook him.
"You really have it bad, bro.", Ned said, shaking his head.
"What? No, me. That's impossible.", Peter said, but knew that he confirmed it with his actions.
"Is it that obvious?", Ned nodded 'yes'. Peter sighed.
The two walked to Decathlon practice. When they entered the room - like always the library- they heard Flash talking about his new DJ Pult and that he's going to used it at a party of a senior. Betty and MJ shook their heads, Gwen was uninterested and went through the Flash cards. Abe and the others listened to Flash with interest.
"Penis Parker's here. What a surprise.", Flash stood up, walking towards him.
"You know that I also showed up last time.", Peter said, walking past Flash and sat down on his chair.
They started to get through some flash cards, before MJ spoke. "Mr. Harrington told me, that there's going to be another Decathlon Competition in Washington D.C. and since we won the last one, I thought it would be great to take part at this competition."
"What's the win?", Flash asked.
"A check about 15.000 Dollar. Plus maybe a tour at the Stark Industry.", she said, and everyone started to talk about it. MJ knew that this was a yes from them and smiled.
"Look, MJ's smiling again.", Ned whispered, and Peter's smile widened. He liked her smile.
When the practice ended, Peter was walking out of the school, to his alley where he always changed his civilian clothes into his Spider-Man suit. "Wait.", he turned around seeing Gwen running towards him. When she arrived, she put her hands on her knees and she took a deep breath before speaking.
"Hey, where are you rushing to?", she asked, with a smile on her face.
"I uh, I'm on my way to patrol. Why?", he asked, titling his head.
"Just wanted to ask you, when you're going to help me to understand this powers. And don't get me wrong. I'm not going to be a hero, I just don't want to be, you know, out casted to be a freak.", she said, bitting her bottom lip.
"I'm going to text you, okay.", he said, and she nodded.
The cold wind blew on his suit, his feet were high in the sky while he webbed an object to swing through the city. People greeted him by calling him 'hi Spider-Man', 'that's Spider-Man' or 'you're the best, Spider-Man'. He liked the feeling of knowing that the people down there in the city could trust him. He really enjoyed saving them. He turned his course towards the Avengers compound, but he stopped when he saw a huge building in fire. With the help of his suit he ran into the fire, trying to bring the people out of there.
Karen told him that there were five people in there. He already saved two by webbing the together and bringing them out, without any hesitation he ran back into the building. A little girl wearing a big, white T-shirt stood in the hall. In her hand was a Teddy bear with a Spider-Man mask on its face. "Hey, you need to take my hand.", he said, slowly walking towards the girl. He walked slowly, because Karen told him that if he walked to fast, the floor could break down and he didn't want to risk that. When the little girl took his hand, he carried her out of the building. "You did great.", he said, high five'ing her before running back into the building.
"Karen were are the other two people?", he asked his AI Karen.
It seems like that the two are on the seventh floor. One of them is unconscious. The other is okay. But you need to be fast or else they could be dead.
Peter swung trough the hole on the ceiling to get faster to the floor. He was on the sixth floor when Karen told him that the entrance was blocked. He needed to get out from an other way. When he arrived at the seventh floor he saw a familiar little boy and a girl who was lying on the floor. When he got near he realized that this was Micheal, MJ's little brother. He put him on his shoulder and carried the girl bridal style. "Karen, where is the next best exit?", he asked, earning a confused life ok from the child.
Walk forwards, there's a hole in the wall, where you can jump on the next roof.
Peter did as he was told and jumped. Michael was screaming and the girl was, well she was still unconscious. When he landed on the roof, he told the boy to stay put. He brought the girl back down to the ambulance and went back up to get the boy. When he was back at the ground, many cheered and applauded for him. Spider-Man went to the unconscious girl. The boy hold his hand.
