No words could explain the annoyance Lance was in. He was pacing and trying to figure out the fastest way to get rid of the foul smell in the kitchen. He'd tried to make Keith's favorite dessert, Mochi, because he'd been stressing about work so much lately, but he tried to make it and he accidentally left them in for too long and they burnt. Burnt Mochi was not a good smell, and the smell radiated through the kitchen. To make matters worse, Keith was coming home in less than ten minutes.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!" He whimpered. He was scared because he hated the idea of Keith coming home to a smokey kitchen. Keith would insist on getting rid of the smell and he was already sleep deprived and overworked, Lance couldn't put that weight on him. Lance's phone suddenly rang. It was Keith.

"Hey, babe, what's up?" He asked calmly, trying to not have Keith worry.

"L-Lance...?" Lance immediately got concerned when he heard Keith's weak voice.

"Keith? What's wrong, babe?" He asked softly. Keith sounded like he was trembling.

'I-i'm c-cold... my c-car broke d-down... c-can you-" Keith was cut off by a short coughing fit. He coughed harshly and eventually caught his breath. "C-can you c-come get me...?" He whimpered. Lance was already getting his keys.

"Yeah. yeah, of course, Keith. Where are you?" He asked softly. Keith coughed weakly on the phone.

"Th-thirteenth s-street..." He whimpered, coughing gently. Lance nodded and got in his car. It was pouring and when Lance eventually found Keith, he was curled up on a bus bench, trembling. Lance jumped out of his car and ran to Keith.

"Keith! Oh my god, babe, you're freezing!" He exclaimed. "Here, get in the car." He spoke, helping Keith up. Keith started falling over and Lance quickly caught him.

"Hey, hey, hey. Easy, babe. Easy - Keith? Keith?!" He worried. Keith was completely limp, trembling in Lance's arms. He passed out, his lips icy blue and almost purple, as were the tips of his fingers.

"Oh, baby, how long have you been out here?" He whispered as he carried Keith to the car, Keith trembling in his arms. He took off his jacket and wrapped it around Keith. Keith whimpered softly and he nuzzled into Lance's shoulder. He looked sickly. Lance whimpered quietly and lied Keith down in the back of his car and started driving.

X.X.

Keith opened his eyes to his apartment. He was lying on the couch, a blanket on top of him and Red on his stomach. Keith sat up and groaned, rubbing his eyes. Lance walked over and handed him a small plate and a cup.

"Hey, baby. How you feeling?" Lance spoke. Keith frowned and yawned.

"C-cold..." He whimpered. Lance frowned and put down the hot cocoa and Mochi he'd made while Keith had been asleep. Lance lifted Keith and brought him onto Lance's lap, hugging him close.

"I know, babe. Why didn't you call me sooner? You got hypothermia." He spoke softly. Keith frowned and rested his head against Lance's shoulder, yawning as he started to shake a little. Lance knew that shaking was a good sign if someone had hypothermia because he was starting to warm up. Lance kissed Keith's cold skin and rocked him back and forth soothingly.

"I-I don't know... I-I'm sorry..." Keith whimpered, tears forming in his eyes. Lance's eyes widened and he shook his head.

"No, no, no. It's okay, babe. Please don't cry." He spoke softly. Keith sniffled and nodded, trying to control his emotions but tears started falling freely from his eyes.

"I-I'm sorry..." He whimpered. Lance sighed softly and kissed Keith.

"It's okay, Keith, really." He spoke gently as he calmed Keith. "How about this. We watch some cheesy holiday movies and cuddle with soooome," He spoke as he reached for the plate of dough balls. "Mochi!" He spoke with a smile. Keith's eyes widened a bit and he smiled.

"Wh-when did you g-get these?" He asked, smiling. Lance beamed pridefully and kissed Keith's forehead.

"I made them! I knew they were your favorite and you've been so overworked lately that I wanted to surprise you." He spoke cheerfully. Keith beamed and kissed Lance.

"Oh my god, babe, that's amazing!" He giggled. Keith hugged Lance tight. He smiled softly. Keith wanted to kiss Lance, but he soon turned away, coughing roughly. Lance sighed and rubbed Keith's back. Keith whined softly and rested his head against Lance's chest. "Ugh, lets just watch movies and cuddle, please..." Keith smiled. Lance nodded and turned on the cheesiest christmas movie he could and they sat there, eating Mochi Balls and drinking hot cocoa.
