I auctioned off every painting and every expensive piece of furniture that I could find, and finally sold off the house a few days back. I'll have to leave by this week, and I'm glad.

I will move to New York City. I already rented an apartment there with all the money I got, and packed up all my belongings and documents. Being an ex-wife to a unfaithful but rich doctor, I was financially well.

The only thing keeping me from living well though, would be my past.

I haven't gotten over my husband handing over those divorce papers, nor the fact that my children just disappeared in the middle of the night.

But now, there's nothing holding me back.

I walked to the kitchen, or what's left of it. All the cabinets were basically empty, for I finally used all the food a while ago. I grabbed all the glasses. Wine glasses, champagne glasses, whiskey glasses, shot glasses. I put them all into a little backpack of mine to carry. I'm moving in 2 days, but I have something else to attend to.

After a 3:30 p.m. train, I reached the under-visited station of an industrial town. Why? To have a bit of fun at a long-abandoned factory.

Sure, I may be 34 years old, but I, too, need a bit of destressing. And teenagers have the best ideas sometimes. Yes, I know barging in would be trespassing, however, I'm not going in.

I opened up my bag, with all the glasses intact. I was holding the bag in my arms, careful not to break anything inside, after all. I was already wearing thick gloves, thanks to the early spring breeze, and had absolutely nothing to lose.

"Cheers," I murmured.. "To leaving it all behind."

Plunk! The shot glass smashed against the factory's concrete wall. Glistening fragments littered the storm drain covers.

"...Heh," I smiled. I had plenty more to my disposal, and I could catch the train home at any time. "This'll be fun."

I took out another glass. Crash!

And another.

Smash!

And another.

Tink!
