The questions were randomly generated, according to the letter, so there was no way that Professor Ryieszenski could've told us the answer in said letter.
Problem is, where do we find an answer to a question like this?
"...This is the UN Secretariat building, where the UN keeps reports and takes care of meetings," said Igor. "If we-"
"If we find the meeting hall, we can check the name plates on their desks!"
"..." Igor stared at me. "That's... easier, to be fair..."
And after I decided on the plan (heheheh), we wandered around to find an elevator.
"There's no power, though," I reminded him as we walked around the dusty corridors.
"Well, yes, I know that," Igor answered. "But chances are, there will be a directory of some kind by the lifts to tell us where to find the conference room."
Surely enough after finding the elevators, on the wall was a list of rooms on every floor, from the 39th level, all the way to the parking lots at B3.
Wait... I looked at the bottom of the sign. "Where's B4?"
"What?" Igor scanned through the sign. It wasn't there. "Well, Prof. Ryieszenski did mention that it was hidden."
"True that," I said. "But I'm guessing that a building like this would be blocked off from the public, wouldn't it?"
"Yes...?" His eyes were still fixated to the signboard.
"Then why would hiding it be necessary?"
Igor turned to me, with a puzzled expression. "...Hm," he pondered. "That's... uh... Huh."
"Exactly, this seems kinda off," I added. "I... don't think this is a good idea."
"Well, hold up, Jack." Igor looked down at his hands (or paws, I suppose). "We wouldn't be sentient nor talking right now if it weren't for him."
"He's not my dad, ew."
He facepalmed. "What- Ugh, I- Look, I mean, he wouldn't give us life just to kill us off immediately afterward, would he?" Igor laughed as he said. "So even if it seems suspicious, we shouldn't be harmed."
"Ah, but still, what would it need to be hidden at all?"
"Well, let's go to the 2nd floor's conference room and try to find out, then," said Igor.
"How on Earth are we going to the-"
Ding-dong-ding-dong! A chime played throughout the building.
"That's a massive cliché," Igor muttered.
"Pointing out a cliché is even more cliché," I muttered back.
A husky voice started talking through the speakers. "Attention, Humanity's Peacekeepers."
"That's usssss," I whispered. Igor facepalmed again, but was clearly smiling there.
"Ahem, hm... Hello, I am Professor Owen R. Ryieszenski, and this is a prerecorded message that will only play once," the voice explained with haste. "Now, you have activated the emergency power supply via that switch behind the flag, so all the lights will now turn on from every 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM EST. Good luck on your journey, Jack and Igor."
Dong-ding-dong-ding! On cue, every light on every ceiling was switched on.
"Oh, sweet! Power!" I cheered.
"He only mentioned lights," Igor burst my bubble. "We still can't use the elevators."
"...Drats."
