"9-1-1, what is your emergency?"

"M-My children are missing! My daughter and son are missing! You have to find them, please!"

"Calm down, ma'am," said the 911 operator. "Are you absolutely certain that they a-"

"Yes! My husband told me to phone you immediately!"

"Remain calm, ma'am. Please provide me the details of when it happened."

"My 10-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son just... vanished! Over night!" I cried. "They were here yesterday, but when I woke up, they were gone!"

"Please tell me details about your daughter, ma'am, including her height and weight."

"My daughter's name is Amelia Maxine Ryieszenski, age 10. Over 60 pounds, about 4'8."

"60+ pounds... 4'8..." the operator echoed. "What about your son?"

"Andrew Melvin Ryieszenski, 8 years old. About 60 pounds, lighter than Amelia. Just over 4 feet tall."

"...About 4 foot... What were they wearing?"

"Both were in pajamas," I said. "Amelia wore yellow, Andrew wore light blue."

The operator then asked me about my address, and told me to await further notice. Interviews with me, my husband, and neighbors would take place once the report is finalized.

Our children's rooms were here in the second floor, and neither me nor my husband heard any noise at night; we both slept soundly. It was one of the rare instances where he's at home, too. My darling kids just disappeared without a trace.

Ron had been driving all around the neighborhood, trying to find them, in case they ran away from home, but to no avail.

"...Where have you gone, Amelia... Andrew... my babies..." I sobbed. "...Have I been such a bad mother..."

If they ran away, I could only hope that they'd come home. I wouldn't yell at them, I'd just sit down with them and talk things out. I can't even think of what went wrong in this peaceful household.

"...Please come back," I begged. "...Please do..."
