"You can't do this to me!" I screamed.
My husband was holding his giant luggage bag, about to leave the house. "I completely understand the guilt you're feeling, dear. And that's why you should understand how I feel, too."
"Why!?" I shouted louder. "You're all I have left! And you're leaving me, too!? How selfish can you get!"
He said nothing. Tears filled his eyes. "Every time I look at you, dear, I only think of the kids..."
Tears filled my eyes, too. "Do you have any idea how painful it has been to live here for so long, seeing the remnants of this family that shouldn't be left to sting?"
"... I..." I couldn't think of anything to say.
"...Please fill those papers in, dear. For the sake of both of us."
Soon, the door shut. And I was left alone, kneeling on the floor, sobbing my heart out.

Next Saturday morning, my ex-husband's brother called me, asking me where he was.
"I was... kind of hoping that you'd be the one telling me," my voice cracked.
"Ah," he said. "I'm sorry for calling you about this. I was trying to contact all our mutuals to get his address. All I know is that he's gone to Australia."
"W-Why on Earth is he in Australia?!" I asked.
"O-Oh, uh..." There was a short pause. "Ahem... since he's not here, well..."
"Spill it out, please."
"He had an affair," he blurted. I covered my mouth in shock. "...Since 2118, I think, with his childhood friend."
"H-How dare he! He left me because of another woman!?" I yelled.
"...He has 4 children, too—"
"Fuck him!"
I hung up the phone, and threw it at an empty vase.
Crash!
And with that,
before I knew it,
I was breaking down again.
