Dear The Sinclairs,
We would love to give you the invite to the annual Armstrong Holiday Dinner. The event will be held at the house and will be Sunday, December 20th at 7 pm. We would love to see the three of you attend!
Love,
Coralee & Bob Armstrong (aNd bRicK)I laugh at the part Brick wrote. He can't even write correctly. I hand the letter to my mom and she reads it.
"I know sweetheart. Brick has been calling me, begging me to come," She mumbles the second part.
An image of them hooking io comes into my mind and I cringe. Everytime my mom talks about Brick I want to die.
"Go get ready if you want to come. Because Dixie and I have to," She says. I walk out of the kitchen and go up to my room.
Even though I've made some friends. I am still waiting for the day my dad tells me I can come home.
He stopped calling and texting me, now it is just formal emails. Which is so not like him because he always texts me.
Even when I am home and he wants the bag of chips. But I guess since I have been gone he has been a lot more focused on work.
Which is good for him, but I don't know how good that is for me. He even turned his read recipts off.
"Eliza! If you are coming, hurry up! You only have thirty minutes!" I hear Dixie scream. I roll my eyes and walk in my closet.
I change into a simple black dress with a pair of gold heels. I touch up my makeup and curl ny hair. When I am done, I grab my phone and walk downstairs to meet up with my mom and Dixie.
"No fair! Mom, why does she look better than me!" Dixie whines.
"Because she thinks she is better than us, you know, living in California," My mom replies. I roll my eyes and get in the backseat of the car.
My mom and Dixie sit up front and then start driving towards the Armstrong's.
Thankfully the car ride wasn't too long because the whole time the two of them were talking about how I think I am better than them. And I think I am so cool because I am from California and I chose to stay with dad and not do pageants.
As soon as my mom parks her car., I practically run out of the car and knock on the door. But by the time the door opens, they caught up with me.
"Eliza, wow. You look uh- wow" I smile at him.
"You look pretty wow yourself," I laugh a little. He laughs and looks down.
"Ok, excuse me! Can I come inside, It is cold," My mom says oushing past me and Brick. We both hold in our laughs as she and Dixie walk in.
My mom pushes her boobs out as she walks past Brick and I look down holding in my emotions.
"Come in," He laughs. I walk in and he looks at me. "She has not changed at all," He laughs a little.
"Except at one point, you enjoyed it,"
He lighth and playfully pushes ny shoulder and I laugh. From the corner of my eye, I see Patty. I look down and hope she doesn't walk over here.
But obviously, she decided to come anyways.
"Eliza, so nice to see you," She smiles. I can see right through her fake act.
"Can't say the same," I mumble. Brick silently laughs and turns around so no one notices.
"I'm gonna go talk to the guys," He says excusing himself. When he gets far enough away, Patty stands in front of me.
"What do you think you are doing with my boyfriend?" She asks.
"Boyfriend? I'm sorry but you cheated on him with his dad, you two are broken up," I reply crossing my arms.
"Fine. What are doing with Brick?" She says crossing her arms.
"Why do I have to answer to you?" I ask.
Patty gives me an intense stare, but I don't let it get to me. She doesn't look away or blink for two minutes stright.
"If we're done here, I'm gonna go," I smile at her. I turn around and get turned back around, facing Patty.
"We aren't done here," She says.
"I am," I smile and head off the find Magnolia. Or honestly, anyone else. I notice Magnolia talking to anfew hirls from school in the living room.
I get stopped by someone. I roll my eyes and look at them with my arms crossed.
"Eliza," He says.
"Christian," I respond. He drags me into a quiet room and I look at him un-impressed.
"I know you like me," He starts off by saying. I laugh a little and look at him. "Look, I'm not mad. I get that is why you are hanging out with Brick,"
He puts his arm on the wall and leans me up against it.
"Trust me when I say this. I do not. Have any interest. In you," I say. He gets closer to me and I try to back up. Stupid wall.
"Come on, You don't need to lie," He whispers.
"Get off me," I say in a flat tone. He starts leaning in more. "Christian. Get off me," I say getting annoyed.
"Or what?"
"She said get off her. You don't need to question it," I hear someone say. I look to the side, past Christian and see Brick. I smile to myself and he turns around to look at Brick.
"What are you gonna do about it, pretty boy?" Christian taunts.
"Listen, get out of my house and leave her alone unless you want what happened last month to happen again," Brick says.
"Hope you know your girlfriend likes me," He winks walking out of the room. Brick doesn't correct him and justbwatches him leave the room.
"Thanks, for that," I say.
"You okay?" He asks walking over to me.
"He didn't actually do anything. I'm fine," I smile.
"Good," Brick wraps his arms around me and I hug him back. "Are you free tomorrow?" He asks me.
"I have plans in the morning till two," I respond.
"Meet me at the school at six," He says.
"For what?" I ask him. Brick ignores my question and just smiles.
"By the steps in the front, six pm," He smiles again.
"Okay, it's a date," I respond.
"Yes it is," He winks. Brick walks away and I follow him out of the room. I walk over to Magnolia and Brick finds a few guys from school.
