School starts in a week fml

All day Magnolia and I were hanging out at her house. Doing all the basic teenage girl things. We complained about our love lives, took a bath in our bikinis, may have snuck a few glasses of wine in there somewhere, took hella mirror pictures, and tried on clothes.

I lost track of time.

It was honestly the most fun I have had in a while. Since I've been in Masonville at least. Patty hates me, Dixie and my mom are insane, Christian is psychotic, and everyone else in this town doesn't seem to exist.

It's weird.

"Did you say you had to go someone at six?" Magnolia asks checking her phone. I panic. I think I don't know how Brick feels about me, but Magnolia told me that she wants him back. And I can't date my friend- only friend's ex boyfriend.

"Yeah, why?" I ask her.

"Because it is six o five," She says giving me a nervous look. I lean my head back. Fuck. I grab my phone from the other room and see a missed call from Brick and a text. Scared to call him back, I decide to text back instead.

Brick: u still coming?
Eliza: im so sorry
Eliza: on my way now
Brick: if ur doing something its fine
Eliza: no
Eliza: ill be there in five
Eliza: lost track of time w mags
Brick: see u in five?
Eliza: in five

I put my phone down and run downstairs. I scream bye to Magnolia and run into my car. I have to go to the steps of the school and quickly before Brick thinks I am a terrible person. I drive up to the school and run out of the car.

I walk over to him and he looks up from his phone. Here is where I tell him about Magnolia.

"You actually showed up," He smiles giving me a hug. I can tell him after whatever we are doing today. Right? "Now, let's go,"

I follow him to his car and he opens the door for me. I smile and laugh a little as she closes the door and runs over to his side of the car.

"Why did we meet here? If we are just going somewhere?" I ask him.

"Well if we met at my house, my parents are kind of- insane. And if I picked you up, well- your mom," He trails off.

"Right," I laugh a little. He joins in and then I look at him. "So uh- you know how I said it's a date," I start off. He nods and looks at me. "Can we, maybe, not make it a date?" I ask closing my eyes.

"Oh- uh, yeah. Yeah," He says.

"I'm sorry, it's just that," I stop. Should I even tell him about Mag? "Magnolia really liked you and I'm not the kinda girl to start that kind of drama,"

"What kind of drama? Magnolia broke up with me and gets pissed off when I like another girl," Brick says stopping the car.

"The kind of drama where it's like 'I stole my best friends ex boyfriend' It would just be a lot," I try to explain.

"Ok, fine. Not a date," He says starting the car again. I stay quiet knowing I just ruined whatever me and Brick had. Fuck.

"Can you answer one question for me?" He asks. This never ends well. I look at him and he looks at me. "If Magnolia didn't care," He says leaning in a bit. God he is so cute. "Would you," He leans in more. "Still be okay," He says leaning in even more. Our lips brushed against each others and he kisses me. "With this?" He finishes and kisses me again.

More passionately.

I couldn't help myself. I kissed back. Brick was one of the first people I've liked in a long time. The way he has this jock act at school, but is super soft. The way he sticks up for you, the way he- I can't do this.

I pull away from the kiss and he looks at me.

"But Magnolia does care," I respond. He sighs and sits back in his seat normally.

"Right," He sighs again. He starts driving again. "Friends go out together? Like as friends, right?" He laughs.

"Yes, Brick," I smile at him.

"I clearly know how you feel though, so I don't know if I care about Magnolia," He says while staring at the road in front of him. "You know, she did the same thing to Patty. She wants what she wants at the moment and then in a minute, she will dump me again. Too bad that she always has to say stupid lies to girls I really like to stop me from being happy without her. And with you, you are a million times prettier with an amazing personality. She doesn't want to see you happy either. She's jealous and you are buying it,"

"Stop the car,"

Brick stops the car and I kiss him. He starts kissing me back and it gets heated very quickly. Brick takes his shirt off and then starts kissing me again. We both pull away and look forward trying to act like that did not happen.

"Where're we going?" I ask.

"Movies?" He asks. I nod and he starts driving again. Hopefully all the way to the theater. "I think I have a thing for Sinclair women," He winks.

"Ew, too soon," I reply. He starts laughing and I shake my head. "I still can't believe you slept with my mom,"

"When I ended things with her, even to this day, she tries to pull her shirt down to show more cleavage. So I think Sinclair women might like me a bit more," He laughs.

"Oh my god, stop!" I whine shutting my ears. He laughs and turns the music on. "You're disgusting,"

"You're the one kissing the guy that fucked your mom, multiple times," He replies.

"This should not be a normal thing we talk about!" I laugh. He starts laughing.

"It's okay. I like girls that are younger than me anyways. Mom's are pretty loose," I choke and look at him. "Oh look, we're here," He laughs looking for a parking spot.
