Chapter 23

"sam" Luke says really weakly "don't shhhh it's okay I'll get help your going to be alright" I cry I get out my phone and dial Chelsea's number "hello" I hear her voice "help Luke's been shot I'm on 54 street, quickly I don't know what to do" I cry and hang up "baby hold in their ok" I sob taking off my scarf and pressing it to where the blood was coming from I remember doing my first aid and they said to apply pressure to the wound, I look around for help but no ones around "sam" I hear Chelsea yell as she runs up to me crying "the ambulance is on the way, are you okay" ashton says taking the scarf and applying more pressure, the ambulance gets here really quick and sees to Luke "can I come with you" I say to the man "sorry family only" the man says running to the drivers seat "luke" I cry Michael catches me just as I'm about to fall "come on let's go to the hospital" michael says as we run to the cars "I'll go with Sam she can't drive like this" ashton says as we get in Luke's car I hand him the keys I lean against the window still in shock, "sam" ashton says causing him to look at me, "what" I say "he's going to be alright" he says, "you don't know that" I snap "sorry" I continue, we arrive at the hospital and we run in "Luke hemmings where is he" I say to the lady at the office, "down the hall you will have to wait in the waiting room" the lady says, we sit down on the chairs, "Sam" I hear mum say as the doors burst open "mum" I say as I give her a hug "liz" I whisper as she is crying "my baby" she cries into my neck "where is he" mum says "in a room they won't tell us anything though" I say "hemmings" a doctor says "yes here we're here is he okay" Liz says as we all stand up "he is stable" he says "can we see him" ashton says "you can but only one at a time, he's not awake but you can see him" he says walking away Liz goes in first and is in their for about 15 minutes before walking out "you can go in now darling" Liz says with tears in her eyes "I can't do it alone" I say "ashton come with me" I say ashton nods ashton is honestly like my brother well they all are but I feel as if in more closer to ash then Mikey and cal, "I'll be right out here" ashton says as I walk into the room and shut the door, Luke's on the bed his eyes are shut and he has all these tubes coming out of him, I sit there for about 10 minutes just staring at him, he looks peaceful and at rest all of a sudden the heart monitor starts rapidly beeping "NURSE" I yell a bunch of nurses run in "what's going on" I yell "mam I'm going to have to ask you to step out" she say pushing me out the room and closes the door "Sam, shhhh" I feel ash grab me I can tell he is crying "ashton I can't lose him, I can't lose him" I cry "shhhh I know" he says "let's go get a drink while they do their job" ashton says we walk to the cafe and get a coffee everyone else is their "he went into cardiac arrest we got shoved out" ashton says, Liz's head drops into her hands "Hemming's" the nurse says and motions us into this room, "we have put Luke in a induced coma" she says "what does that mean Calum says "it means he is asleep and he will either come out of it on his own or he wont" she says my heart sinks "what are the chances of him coming out of this" Michael says "not very good" the nurse says the room falls silent apart from all our sobs "I'll give you some space" the nurse says leaving the room, we sit in he hospital for a few hours I yawn "why don't we take you home" Calum says "no I don't want to leave" I say "darling to home, have a shower, have a but of a sleep then come back I'll stay here and I promise I will ring you as soon as I hear anything" Liz says I nod and walk out the hospital with the gang, we get back to my place and i haven't said a word no one has "I'm going for a shower" I say as I walk up to the bathroom i get in and just let the water run down my body the images of the man and Luke keep flashing in my mind, I hop out and walk downstairs everyone's asleep on the couch i lie down on the sofa and close my eyes my phone is in my hand just incase *ring ring* my phone buzzes i jump up "Liz is he okay what's happened" I said down the phone "they have said that they recommend that everyone come in and get ready to say goodbye" she sobs down the phone "I'll be right their" I say hanging up "guys wake up" I say they all jump up "they want us in to say goodbye they don't think he is going to last much longer" I say, "come on let's go" ashton says as we hop in the car, we arrive at the hospital and walk in "mum where's liz" I say "saying goodbye" mum sobs "okay" I say sitting down, I let everyone else go before me I'm not ready to say goodbye yet, I can't bring myself to do it, Chelsea was the last one out "Sam you can go now" I stand up I can tell everyone's looking at me so I take a deep breath and walk into Luke's room again I sit their for 10 minutes just looking at him "you can talk to him you know, some people believe they can hear you" the nurse says she is doing some stuff in the corner I nod "Luke baby, I don't know if you can hear me, but if you can, it's okay to let go, if it's your time it's okay let go I don't want you to be in pain anymore" I say sobbing a bit "I just I love you" I sob, all of a sudden Luke's hand moves and grabs mine "Luke" I breath out "what is it sweetie" the nurse stands up "he moved his hand" I say "are you sure" the nurse says "Luke baby can you squeeze my hand" I say "please" I cry again stronger than before he squeezes my hand "he's awake" the nurse says she sounds shocked "sam" Luke says barely audible, "baby" I cry as I look at him his eyes are open. "miss I'm going to have to get you to step out again while we see to Luke" the nurse says I nod and kiss Luke on the head "he woke up" I breathe out as I get to the gang "Liz runs up to me and gives me the biggest hug "their just seeing to him then we can go see him" I say, I look up to the roof and just thank god he woke up, he's going to be okay.
