Reasons To Smile

Jongin doesn’t know what he’s doing right now. Is it fucking alright? What will Kyungsoo say about what he’s doing right now? What if Kyungsoo doesn’t want this to happen? And he’s sure that Kyungsoo doesn’t want him to do this thing to him. But he can’t stop himself now.

Jongin is bursting out, laughing because Kyungsoo just farts when he’s about to kiss him on the neck and give him a hickey. Kyungsoo pouts when Jongin laughs so hard like he himself is not farting in his own entire life. He doesn’t turn the lights on because Jongin will only see his blushing face.

Kyungsoo sits up on the bed and hits Jongin on the head which makes Jongin stop laughing, “Why?! Do you not fart in your fucking whole life?!” Kyungsoo pouts and crosses his arms across his chest. Jongin then starts laughing again, rolling like a buffalo in Kyungsoo’s bed but not until Kyungsoo pushes him again out of the bed.

He should’ve told Kyungsoo that it hurts but he knows that Kyungsoo won’t believe him because he’s laughing so hard right now. Kyungsoo then covers his bed with his body again and is deciding to sleep. He closes his eyes while pouting because he doesn’t want his day to end like this.

Jongin then puts his chin on Kyungsoo’s bed and watches the shorter one even though it’s dark. Then he remembers all the things that Kyungsoo was stating earlier. About the ring… he holds Kyungsoo’s hand which makes the shorter one gasp in surprise and to look at him.

Kyungsoo blinks at what Jongin is doing. Jongin goes to his bed and sits Kyungsoo up. Kyungsoo doesn’t know why he obediently sits up while Jongin is still caressing his hand. Jongin is amazed at how soft and small Kyungsoo’s hand is. He handles it with care like it will break in no time.

Then Kyungsoo speaks what the hell Jongin is doing to his hand. Jongin looks at him and Kyungsoo is caught, why does Jongin’s eyes have to be handsome? Kyungsoo pouts at how weak he is when Jongin is doing this right now.

Jongin now fumbles to the pocket in the pajamas he’s wearing and pulls out a star-shaped ring which Kyungsoo recognizes the most. Jongin slides the ring on one of Kyungsoo’s delicate fingers and looks at Kyungsoo’s sparkling eyes. Jongin is still holding Kyungsoo’s hand when he mumbles, even though he doesn’t know why, “You have another reason to smile in school now.”

And as soon as he drops Kyungsoo’s hand, he searches through the back of his neck just to rub it because he feels so fucking embarrassed right now. Kyungsoo is not saying anything and that is new to Jongin for Kyungsoo should be jumping in joy. Does Kyungsoo not want the ring he gave him?

Then Jongin looks at Kyungsoo to find the answer. He is wrong. Kyungsoo is crying and he asks Jongin, “I-is this what you call tears of joy? Thank you so much Jongin.” Kyungsoo sniffs like his family just returned home. Kyungsoo wipes his tears on his cheeks but it’s useless because other batches of tears are flowing from his eyes.

Jongin nods because he thinks that he makes Kyungsoo cry because of joy and not because of anger or sadness. He thinks that this is the first time Kyungsoo cries because of joy. And he’s really happy knowing that. Jongin smiles a little and pats Kyungsoo’s shoulders.

He doesn’t know why he says this but… “O is for a circled hug.” And he comes closer to feel that the shorter one is in his arms crying in joy. Kyungsoo feels so elated inside. He feels protected to be in the other one’s arms. And this is the first time he feels this in other person except from Baekhyun, JeHee, and his best friend.
