Cheryl smiled as she closed the front door. Toni had just left and even though she had a wine-induced breakdown, she still enjoyed Toni's company, even after the attempts at getting her to leave.

"What in the world was she doing here? I thought she left with the pack of dogs last night," Penelope said.

"I told her to leave but she insisted on staying. Don't worry she probably won't be back," Cheryl half mumbled the last part. She felt as though she might've scared Toni off.

"Maybe your unnatural behaviors caused her to flee. I don't want her back over here," Penelope huffed and started walking away.

"Why do you have to be such a dehydrated sluggard? You only pretend to care about my life when you're trying to rip something away from me!" Cheryl called out.

"Oh Cheryl, whatever you think you're going to have with that girl, you might as well let disappear from your love starved brain," Penelope replied and walked away.

Tears flowed down the girl's pearl skin before she ran upstairs to her room.

..

The memory played in Cheryl's mind as she was getting ready for school. Thankfully, her mother had already left so she could dress in peace.

She had to stay away from Toni. It hurt shutting down her invites yesterday, but she just wanted to protect her. She knew what her family was capable of, and if she maintained a friendship with the girl, she would want to come around more often and she can't let anything happen to her.

She decided to just focus on Spring Fling and the River Vixens. 'Which Toni is now a part of, great.' She rolled her eyes and sighed before grabbing her things and heading to school.

She arrived earlier today, in hopes she wouldn't run into her favorite serpent or her friends. She walked into the library, sat down in a chair in the corner, and opened up her book. "Daisy has it all. I wish someone would throw me grand parties," She said aloud. Look at her, envious of a fictional character.

"Well I can get a DJ and a slip and slide. Is that grand enough?" Cheryl rolled her eyes at her failed attempt of avoiding the girl. "Also you're in my chair."

"Toni, why are you here? Where's your posse?" Cheryl asked.

"Sometimes I come early to read when I don't want to be bothered with the guys," Toni said. "Now scoot over princess." She forcefully pushed the girl over until they were sharing the chair, hip to hip and shoulder to shoulder.

Cheryl was silent. She hadn't been this close to the girl before and was excited, yet terrified at the same time. They read together in silence, well Toni read, Cheryl was trying to control her breathing. She wanted to tell the girl the truth. How her mother is a witch and how she actually loves being around her, but she just couldn't. Afraid the girl would feel the goosebumps on her skin she stood up.

"Look, I don't know what your weird obsession with me is for, but it needs to stop. I've tried being nice, but something isn't sticking inside that head of yours," Cheryl said. "Stay away from me."

Toni tried to keep a straight face, she didn't want Cheryl to know that she was phased by her words. As if things couldn't get any worse, Principal Weatherbee walked in.

"Miss Blossom, I've been looking for you. I just wanted to let you know that i'm putting the Vixens in charge of decorations and preparations for the Spring Fling. I suggest you meet with the A/V Club today regarding it as well," Weatherbee told them and they both mentally rolled their eyes.
