By the time afternoon rolled around, Cheryl was back to being alone. The girls left but promised to check up on her, even though she didn't really care. She just wanted to sit in her house and cry.

She was flipping through channels in the living room now, her mom out doing god knows what and Nana Rose sleeping upstairs. With a blanket wrapped around her body and a tub of ice cream on the table, she was content with staying like that forever.

She settled on watching some daytime cartoons and crying into her ice cream. She felt her phone vibrate but she didn't even pick it up. She didn't want to talk to anyone. But over the next few minutes, the phone kept vibrating.

Fed up and close to throwing it at the wall, she finally answered the phone, Jughead's name on the screen.

"What the hell do you want?" She asked angrily.

"Guess where I am?" He says on the phone.

"I don't know, a homeless shelter where you belong?" She rolled her eyes, close to hanging up the phone. Jughead ignored her comment though.

"Open the door." He hung up then and three knocks were heard on her front door. She groaned, not wanting to get up, especially for Jughead of all people. Despite this, she threw the blanket off her lap and hastily walked toward the door.

"If it's you Jughead, go aw-," She didn't finish her sentence, too stunned to speak. On the other side, stood the girl of her dreams. Her brown and pink hair fell against her shoulders. Clad in a tank top and shorts, she wore a shy smile.

"Hey, Cher..." She said softly and Cheryl was still struggling to breathe. They both just stared at each other for what felt like hours, even though it was only a few minutes.

"What are you doing here?" Cheryl asked.

"This is my home."

Cheryl rolled her eyes and turned away, walking back inside the house. "Oh now this is your home? Wasn't your home when you refused to come back with me."

"Cheryl, I didn't come back because I was protecting you. Xavier was going to have you killed and I'd die before I ever let that happen," Toni said, a tear forming in her left eye. She reached for Cheryl's hand, intertwining their fingers. "But he's gone now, and I can finally do this."

She grabbed the girl's face, her fingers brushing her pale skin, and pressed their lips together. Cheryl sighed in content, wrapping her arms around Toni's waist and pulling her closer. Their lips moved together in tandem, Toni pushing them further inside until they fell to the same couch Cheryl was sitting moments before.

The red head girl was on her back now, Toni in her lap, their lips never leaving each other as they expressed their desire, love, and longing in the best way they knew how.

After a few minutes, they pulled away, staring into each other's eyes and big smiles on both their faces. "Cheryl Blossom, will you go to Spring Fling with me?"

"I thought you'd never ask."

"Get your asses in gear ladies, this gym needs to be in tip top shape for the dance tomorrow night!" Cheryl yelled. Toni had convinced her to go to school the next day, and they were now both at River Vixen practice.

"Why isn't Toni helping?" Betty asked from atop a ladder. Toni looked up from the book she was reading, her feet perched up on a table.

"Oh Betty, stop asking me questions and use your fimble, weak arms to lift that banner!" Cheryl commanded. Toni laughed and winked at her, returning to her book. The duo had been attached to the hip all day, laughing and smiling, as if the last few days of hell had never happened.

Everyone had noticed the change in Cheryl since Toni's return, still the HBIC no doubt, but the light had been brought back to her eyes and that's all her friends could ask for.

"So what are you wearing tomorrow night?" Josie asks walking up to Cheryl.

"Put your back into it Betty!" Cheryl yells again before turning to Josie. "Honestly, I'm still undecided. I have two dresses to pick from."

"Well what do they look like?" Josie asks and Cheryl whips out her phone, showing her some pictures. "Damn girl, Miss Topaz better get prepared because she's not gonna know what hit her."

Cheryl smirked knowing she was going to look great in either dress, she wanted to surprise Toni, in hopes that they could possibly make things official between them. Once she was finished overworking the girls, she called an end to practice and Toni walked over.

"Ready to go, beautiful?" She asked and Cheryl nods. "Pop's? Or straight home?"

"We can go to Pop's, I was hoping we could talk anyway," Cheryl says. They both walk outside to Toni's motorcycle, helmets on and the engine running. Cheryl couldn't contain her happiness as she gripped tight to Toni's torso, the wind blowing her red locks with ease.

When they arrived, the diner was fairly empty. "I never get used to this," Cheryl says and Toni smiles. They both walk inside, giving Pop their orders before sitting down at a booth.

"So Cher, what did you wanna talk about?" They sat across from each other, the blue and red lights illuminating around them.

"Toni when you were gone, I was lost. You're back now and I don't want to feel that way again. I know your living situation with your uncle is unsteady, so I was wondering...if you'd move in with me."

"Move in? What about your mom? She hates me," Toni says confused.

"My sorry excuse for a mother is nothing for you to worry about, I need to know you're safe and what better way to ensure that than you sleeping next to me every night...or in the guest room, if you'd like."

Toni smiles softly and Cheryl loves/hates it. She wants the girl to hurry up and answer so the anxiety she feels can dissipate.

"Of course I'll move in with you Cheryl, as long as I get to be the big spoon," Toni says and Cheryl laughs.

"T, you're like four feet tall, you're gonna get a face full of my back."

"It's a good thing you have a pretty back then," She shrugs her shoulders and Pop comes over with their food.

"So what are you wearing tomorrow night?" Cheryl asks and Toni chuckles while putting fries in her mouth.

"Nah uh Blossom, you're not getting anything out of me. It's a surprise just like your dress is."

"How do you know I'm wearing a dress?" Cheryl asks cockily and Toni smirks.

"Because I know you, you're wearing a dress, most likely long because it's going to be chilly tomorrow and you hate when your legs get cold."

Cheryl looked at her in fake annoyance. Being analyzed by the pink haired girl used to piss her off, now she's used to Toni being able to see right through her.

"Well I guess both of us will have to wait and see huh?" Cheryl smirked.

"Yeah, I guess we will."
