I awoke to the pitter-patter of rain. It was a peaceful alarm, unlike Jonah’s yelling. I turned over to my side to see Louis. He is so beautiful when he sleeps, his chest rising and falling; his eyelashes flutter every now and then. I lay back down onto my pillow, focusing on the rain. I want to fall back asleep but I’m wide-awake. I made a quick decision and got up. My vision started to blacken, guess I got up too fast.

“Morning, love.” Louis gurgled, his voice low and slurred.

“Morning!” I greeted. He smiled and sat up, pressing his lips against mine.

“What time do you need to get home?” Louis asked.

 “In about an hour sorry.”

“It’s fine, I was going to do something with the boys soon so I didn't want to have to kick you out!"

I stared out the window, watching the raindrops have a race on the outside of it. The drops would disappear then mold back to finish. I always loved the rain; I didn’t understand how it could be bad. It watered everything, it’s smell is amazing, and after every storm comes a rainbow. I used to always get big, red boots and splash in the puddles. The feeling of the water spraying my legs felt great, the drops would race down my leg returning to they’re home in the puddle. Louis drove through a big puddle and water splashed against the window. Washing away the entire race.

“You can drop me off right here.” I whispered, not even looking at Louis.

“Why?” He asked. I turned to him, a puzzled expression plastered on my face.

 “What do you mean?”

“You always make me drop you off at the corner, why not your house?”

“Well, uh, I don’t know.” He raised his eyebrow towards me. I was unsure of what to say, there is no explanation except I have an angry fiancé waiting there. He pulled to the corner of my street and turned off the car,

“Fine, you can just never tell me anything, I don’t care.” He snarled. Having him sound angry felt like a knife through my flesh. He was looking away from me, his eyes set on his window. I wanted him to kiss me, to tell me it didn’t matter what I told him. But that’s unfair, having me live in a secret world but he can tell me anything. It makes this relationship too one-sided, someday I will tell him, when Jonah is completely gone.

“Thanks, for driving me.” I whispered. He cocked his head to the side slightly and the corners of his mouth curved upward, just a little bit. That small smile made my heart leap, he can’t be mad at me, that was comforting. I opened the door and jumped out of the car. Landing directly in a giant puddle, the water sprayed against my pants. Louis drove away, giving me a smile. I started to jump around in the puddle, acting like a child. I got my pant legs all wet, well Louis’s pants. I started down the sidewalk, staring at all the wet leaves on the trees and the grass perfectly hydrated. I jumped in a small puddle at the end of my driveway. I checked the time on my phone, 12:00pm. I walked onto my porch, taking one last look at the world that was now soaked with rain. It was only drizzling now, which seemed absolutely beautiful.

Right when I walked into my home and into the living room, the light clicked on. I froze, thinking of the last time that happened. I turned to see Jonah, sitting on the big chair in the corner of the room. He just sat there for a while, saying nothing, just staring.

“Whose pants are those?” He asked, his voice sharp and full of anger.

“Will’s, my work dress got wet from the rain so I borrowed some of his clothes.” I lied, pointing to the over sized, striped T-shirt and red sweat pants.
