Jacqueline and Jasper stood off to the side and watched as Tony gave his presentation. The minute she saw Pepper's name she walked away from the side and out to the hallway.
"We'll catch up later." She heard the teacher say. Tony walked into the hallway and half smiled at her. He sractched Jasper's head and the two started walking.
"Took you long enough." Jacqueline said as they walked by the men's room and straight to the elevator. When they reached the elevator there was a woman waiting.
"That was nice, what you did for those young people." She said.
"Ah, they deserve it. Plus, it helps ease my conscience." Tony said.
"Wait you have a conscience?" Jacqueline asked confused.
"Bite me 270."
"That was uncalled for."
"Don't start what you can't finish." After the little spat Jacqueline turned and smiled at the woman. Their spat didnt seem to stop the woman from her mission.
"They say there's a correlation between generosity and guilt. But if you've got the money… break as many eggs as you like. Right?" The woman said making Jacqueline scratch her neck awkwardly. Tony had narrowed his eyes trying to catch what the woman was getting at. He was surprised when Jacqueline reached infront of him to press the up button.
"Are you going up?" Tony asked as Jacqueline pressed the button.
"I'm right where I want to be." She said. When she reached into her bag he moved Jacqueline behind him and grabbed the woman wrist. Tony realized what he was doing as Jasper nipped his ear as a sign it was nothing deadly.
"Okay, okay. Hey! Sorry, it's an occupational hazard." Tony said as he let Jacqueline stand slightly in front of him.
"I work for the State Department. Human Resources. I know it's boring… but it enabled me to raise a son. I'm very proud of what he grew up to be." She took a photo and shoved it into Jacqueline's chest. "His name was Charlie Spencer. You murdered him. In Sokovia. That building you held up. He was inside. Not that it matters in the least to you. You think you fight for us. You just fight for yourself. You don't deserve the removal of the title." Jacqueline said nothing but stared at the photo. Tony shook his head at the woman.
"Who's going to avenge my son, Stark? He's dead… and I blame you two." She said before leaving the two. Tony forced Jacqueline into the elevator and then to car.
"Don't blame yourself. You didnt know he was there." Was the first thing tony said.
"I should have known. I should have heard him."
"You were focusing on the child." Jacqueline didn't say anymore just looked out the window.
"Sir there is a call for you." FRIDAY said through the car.
"Go ahead and answer it."
"Stark. I'm about 5 minutes from the compound. You and Miss Wilson better be there."
"We are about 5 minutes out as well."
"Good and congratulations Miss Wilson."
-----------------------------------------------------Jacqueline was standing in the conference room when the rest of the team entered. Wanda basically jumped her.
"I've missed you." Wanda said hugging her.
"I've missed you too." Jacqueline sighed. Sam hugged her next pressing a kiss to her cheek.
"I'm proud of you and what you did at that press conference couple months ago." Sam said laughing.
