Chapter Ten: A Storm

Jacqueline grabbed Pietro's hand and pulled him to the side. She sighed then looked at him. She pressed a soft kiss to his lips and he quickly pressed back.

"Dont die and we will talk about this when we get back." Jacqueline mumbled. Pietro nodded and kissed her cheek.

"Kiss on your own time." Steve said walking past them. "Ultron knows we're coming. Odds are we'll be walking into heavy fire, and that's what we signed up for. But the people of Sokovia, they didn't. So our priority is getting them out." Pietro sped away from Jacqueline and Steve and into the police station.

"We're under attack! Clear the city, now!" None of the officers took Pietro serious so he returned with a shotgun and shot it in the air. "Get off your asses." Pietro said. Wanda used her abilities to evacuate the people of Sokovia. Jacqueline and Jasper helped direct people out of the city.

"All they want is to live their lives in peace, and that's not going to happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done, and find out what Ultron's been building. We find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us. Ultron thinks we're monsters and we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right."

As Sokovia starts to float a building started to fall. Jacqueline caught the building before it could fall on any civilians. It slammed against her back and she slid a little but was able to hold the building up.

"Ahh! Go! Go! Go! Get out of the way!" She yelled to the citizen. Jacqueline could hear small cries from a child next to her. "Hey honey-ugh. You okay." Her feet slipped a little more and a few citizen ran towards her. She waved them back and quickly put her hands back on the building.

"I lost my mommy." He sobbed.

"I promise we will find her but right now I need you to move before I drop the building. We can only find mommy once your safe. You see my little friend Jasper?"

"Yes."

"I want you to follow him and dont stop until I say other wise. Jasper. Mission safety. Level Alpha 5." She commanded. Jasper nudged a small button on his paw and a handle came out of his vest. "Grab the handle sweetie." The little boy grabbed the handle just as Jacqueline started to lose her grip. A bunch of the people were gasping and filming what Jacqueline was doing. There was a few shocked screams as the building started falling on Jacqueline. She shut her eyes and a pair of arms grabbed her. Jacqueline opened her eyes and saw Pietro. She let out a sigh and rested her forehead against his shoulder.

"Dont die we have much to talk about." Pietro said making Jacqueline snort as he set her down. "Captain has moved the remaining citizens to a bus station the next block over."

"I'll be fine go help others." Jacqueline said. Pietro nodded and left. Jacqueline picked up the child and motioned for the group of people to follow her. When they were near the building Tony spoke.

"Cap, you got incoming." Tony said over the coms. Jacqueline looked down at the little kid.

"Cover your ears." He followed her instructions and she pulled out a pistol and shot down some of the bots as they went. She handed the kid to a woman and spoke to the group. "I'll provide cover for you to get to the station. Get in there help him find his mother. Go."

"Incoming already came in." Steve groaned as he stood up. Jacqueline shot down any bots that came near the station as the civilians ran to the station. Once they were safe Jacqueline jogged to Steve. "Stark, you worry about bringing the city back down safely. The rest of us have one job: tear these things apart. You get hurt, hurt 'em back. You get killed, walk it off."
