Chapter Seventeen: When Destiny Knocks

Jacqueline walked into the house and Steve dropped his bag by the door. The small giggle and squeals coming from the living room made Jacqueline smile. She motioned for him and Sam to stay quiet. As she walked in behind Jessica.

"You have to be careful or someone may reach out and grab you." Bucky said as he watched Jacqueline walk in behind Jessica. Jacqueline quickly grabbed Jessica making her squeal and laugh.

"Look who I found hanging around the palace." Jacqueline said as she set down her 6 year old.

"Uncle Steve! Grampy!" Jessica said as she ran over to the two to talk to them. Jacqueline walked over to Bucky and pressed a kiss to his lips. Steve looked at them then quickly back at Jessica.

"I think you were right about Steve's crush on you." Bucky said smiling at them. Jasper jumped from his shoulder over to Jacqueline's and licked her face.

"Oh no it's you I said he was crushing on." Jacqueline said softly. He looked at her then at him then back at her. "And don't tell me no I know what you two did in the back of that truck on the way back from Coney Island." Jacqueline smirked as Bucky turned red as she picked up some of Jessica's toys. "Happy thinking about that?"

"I mean I did say... It does..." Bucky started to stumble over his words making Jacqueline smile as she put the toys in the chest then moved towards the kitchen.

"Buck." She said raising an eyebrow at him. "Usually I'm the stumbling mess."

"I just... It's Steve you know. We've shared everything our whole lives. Me and Steve always had something between us. Then there's you." Bucky said then instantly regretted his statement. He looked at her and she was smiling at him.

"What are you trying to say James." Jacqueline said with a huge smirk on her face.

"If it doesn't bother you I think I want Steve to be a part of our relationship." Bucky quickly said as he looked away from her. Before Jacqueline could even given an answer, Jessica ran into the kitchen.

"Mommy. Daddy. Grampy and Papa want to talk to you." Jessica said as she climbed into Jacqueline's lap.

"Do you mean Uncle Steve?" Bucky asked.

"Oh... yeah."

"Baby why did you call Uncle Steve Papa?" Jacqueline asked Jessica.

"Grampy said you and Daddy are a team and it always feels like Uncle Steve is a part of that team. So he is like my Papa since I already have Daddy." Jessica said before she wiggled down and ran off.

"Well, I guess you got your answer." Jacqueline said as she started to head towards the living room. Steve and Sam walked over to them.

"Are you sure you will be okay?" Steve asked Jacqueline.

"Yeah. It's Tony. He won't hurt me." Jacqueline said. Steve and Sam shared a look of concern.
