Chapter 21: Preparing for the Act 1 Finale

*Y/n POV*

The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I was just chilling outside, laying on the grass with my head against a tree. I took a deep breath, just enjoying the sweet air.

"This is the life." I said.

I closed my eyes and began to feel myself fall asleep, when I suddenly felt something, as if an incredible energy had pulsed through my body.

"What the hell was..."

I trailed off, as I knew exactly what it was.

*Darkrai POV*

I walked with Cresselia back to the dorm after getting that frantic text message from Dad.

"Ugghhh," Cresselia groaned, "My date with Jaune was going so well!"

I just sighed, "I get it, I was out with Neo. But Dad said it was urgent so..."

"Oh yeah, it was in all caps. And had a lot of exclamation marks." She said, "But do we have to!? He's probably worrying over nothing."

"You know Dad, right? It's probably not 'nothing'. And considering the fact we just got attacked by the Regitrio, I'm inclined to believe that this could be something big."

We continued walking, and arrived at the dorm, pushing the door open.

"Dad? We're here."

"Come one, come on!" I heard him say, "We have to prepare!"

He came out of the bathroom, fixing his scarf and jacket. He paced around the room, apparently looking for something, whatever it was.

"Dad? What's going on? What are you looking for?" Cresselia asked.

"I'm looking for my Griseous orb." He said, throwing a bed into the air and flipping it over, "Where is it!"

"Why do you need it?" I asked.

He looked over to us, and his eyes seemed off, as if there was something in his eye. I know what that is.

It's fear.

"Arceus," He said, "She's here. And she's coming for us."

*Arceus POV*

I floated through the portal, appearing over a deep blue sea.

"So, this is the world I sent Y/n to?" I said.

"Yep," Palkia said, floating behind me, "So, where's Y/n, we should take him down ASAP."

"Yes, but first, the two of you will be dealing with Darkrai and Cresselia." I said.

"Do we really have to fight Cresselia?" Dialga asked, "She can't be that bad, can she?"

"Regigigas is dead, Dialga," Palkia said, "She shot Regirock in the shoulder, and nearly killed him, and Regice and Regirock are still missing."

Dialga looked down in sadness, and I put a hand on his shoulder.

"Relax, my child," I said calmly, "Maybe we can convince her to come back."

He looked up, and gave me a smile. I let go of him and floated back over the water, facing to them.

"Go my children, find them. Y/n will come to me."

They both opened their portals, one pink and one blue, and disappeared, as I faced towards the sun.

"It's a beautiful day Y/n, I wish we didn't have to do this." I said, "We should be doing family things, not trying to kill each other."

I let out a sigh, and the water began to ripple, as my tears hit the water.

"I'm waiting Y/n, come find me."

*Darkrai POV*

I stood in front of Dad with Cresselia and watched, as he spread his Altered form wings. He lost his Griseous Orb, but there's no time to worry about that.

He flapped down strong and quickly, shooting into the air. I blocked my eyes from the dust cloud he created, as he disappeared into the air.

"So what now?" Cresselia asked.

"Well," I replied, "We prepare to fight."

"We're gonna die, you know that, right?"

"Probably."

She sighed, "Well, I said I'd stay with my family, so I'm stuck with you two till the end of the line."

She turned and began to walk away, as I spoke up.

"If you're scared, it's okay. If I'm honest..." I took a deep breath, "I'm scared too."

She looked at me for a second, before bursting out laughing.

"Are you serious? This coming from the same guy who fought two gods at once, and WON." She said, "I'm not scared at all."

I let out a laugh, as she continued to walk away.
