23 | "ahh about that..."

"What is this?" jungkook said as he saw all the decorations in his and taehyung's shared room.

Taehyung started singing the happy birthday song from behind jungkook as he took out the present he bought for the younger.

Jungkook looked back to see a gift box and a smiling taehyung in front of him. 

"Happy birthday," taehyung said once again as he gave jungkook his birthday gift.

"H-how did you know," jungkook asked confused.

"Ahh... Ok, don't get mad at me but I saw the messages Jimin sent you the other day," taehyung said as jungkook recalled his memory when he texted Jimin about his birthday which was a week ago.

"No, it's ok. I'm not mad... it's just that-" jungkook stopped his sentence and broke down in front of the older male.

"Hey, hey what happened? Why are you crying? Don't you like this? Did I make a mistake?" taehyung asked a bunch of questions looking at the younger sobbing in front of him which broke his heart. He can't see the younger one crying, well at least not on his birthday.

Jungkook didn't say anything, instead, he hugged the older tightly and started sobbing harder. Taehyung hugged jungkook back trying to calm the younger which seem to be working... kinda.

"It's ok, it's ok, I'm here. Tell me what happened," taehyung asked with his low and lovable voice which calmed the younger a bit.

Jungkook told taehyung everything that happened to him when he was younger and how his parents were killed on his birthday. (if you want to know more read chapter 18 for further information)

This time taehyung hugged the latter, burying his face on the crook of jungkook's shoulder inhaling his scent.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know anything about your past and without thinking I-" taehyung was cut off when jungkook unwrapped his hands from taehyung's neck.

"I said it's ok hying. It's been a long day, should we eat something?" jungkook said as he looked at everything taehyung prepared for him.

Taehyung smiled and nodded as he took jungkook's hand and went to the table where there was food made by taehyung himself.

After eating and talking for about 30 minutes, jungkook looked at the gift that taehyung gave him. 

"Hyung what's this?" the younger asked.

"why don't you open it and see it yourself," taehyung gave jungkook a mischievous smile.

Jungkook took the gift box in his hand and unwrapped it.

"wow... hyung this... ahhh... what does it do?" jungkook said sheepishly.

Taehyung laughed at the younger's cuteness.

"It's something that will keep us together forever. When I am not with you just look at this and it will make you feel like I'm there with you," taehyung said with a sweet smile.

"Why will I think about you? It's not that we are dating or anything," jungkook said but with sadness in his face. Deep inside he wanted the older to tell him that he loves him and he will always be there to protect him.

"Ahh about that. Jeon jungkook..."
