40 | Ice cream with a stranger

The next day Taehyung went back to the school, at the same time he did yesterday. But today when the class was dismissed, Bogum wasn't there to pick them up, yet.

Taehyung stared at the two kids. Their eyes were searching for the man who usually picks them up but there was no sign of him. They went and sat on a nearby bench, waiting for bogumie to come.

Taehyung went up to them and sat down beside the two kids. Taemin looked to his right and saw the same person that was staring at them yesterday. Jungwook looked at the direction his brother was looking at and pouted.

"Ajusshi, are you following us?" Jungwook asked with an angry/pouty face which made taehyung chuckle.

"Ajusshi? do I look that old to you?" taehyung asked making a sad face. Taemin and jungwook looked at the ajusshi. He wasn't that old. He was slightly older than their dada.

They both nodded 'no'. Taehyung smiled at the two adorable fluff balls with his boxy smile.

"look, he smiles just like you," Taemin said to jungwook. Taehyung heard and couldn't control his excited heart. He was so happy to see his kids right in front of his eyes.

That's because my blood is in you, son.

Taehyung thought while looking at the two boys giggling.

"Do you guys wanna get ice-cream? This ajusshi will buy it for you," taehyung said. Both jungwook and Taemin looked at the stranger now.

"No, Dada said not to get things from a stranger," taehyung felt a pang in his heart. Hearing those words from your own children, couldn't be any worse.

"Well, my name is taehyung and I know your Dada, he works in the same company as me," taehyung said and the two little ones processed what the taehyung guy just said.

"You know Dada?" Taemin questioned.

"amhmm," taehyung nodded while humming.

"so... why don't you guys introduce yourself. That way we won't be strangers and can be friends," taehyung said with a smile plastered on his face. It's been so long since he been this happy.

The two little one nodded with excitement.

"My name is Taemin and he is my twin brother jungwook," Taemin introduced.

"Ooo... what a cute name you both have," taehyung cooed. The fact that jungkook named the kids with both their names makes tae a little happy. At least he now knows that jungkook still didn't forget about him.

"Tata ajusshi, are you okay?" both twins asked in unison as they saw taehyung's sad expression.

"I'm fine. do you guys wanna get ice-cream now?" both jumped in their place, not able to hold back their excitement.

Taehyung held both their hands, jungwook holding his right hand while Taemin holding his left. Right after they were out of sight, Bogum came in running from his car.

He was late due to the heavy traffic. He felt bad for being late so he even bought chocolate for the two. However, when he got to school, he saw no one. His hear beating was still fast due to running but not seeing the kids in front of his eyes makes it even worse.

Whenever he is late the kids will wait for him by the bench. He went inside the building to ask the teachers if they know anything. The teachers were of no help. Bogum was pissed. What kind of teachers let 5-year-olds go out of their sight?

He started panicking. He looked for them the whole day. It was currently 5:30 pm and still no idea where the kids could have gone.

What will he tell jungkook? oh, that he was late and the kids disappeared? He was so confused. He was in the urge to cry.

He went home empty-handed. When he arrived he saw jungkook cooking in the kitchen.

"Jungkook, you came home early today?" Bogum asked with nervousness displayed on his face.

"Oh, yeah I got off early since my shift ended early today," jungkook said as he turned back to see Bogum's face, all sweaty and tired.

"What wrong? are you okay?" jungkook asked concerned.

"Jun-" he was cut off by jungwook and Taemin running to the living room. His didn't know if he should be relieved or worried.

"Ahh... nothing. By the way, how did jungwook and Taemin get home?" Bogum asked.

"I thought you picked them up," jungkook said confused.

"No, I didn't. I was late and when I arrived there they weren't there. I looked for them but-" Bogum was cut off by jungkook calling his two sons over.

"Jungwook, Taemin, how did you guys get home?" Jungkook asked with a raised eyebrow.

"A nice ajusshi took us to eat ice cream and he brought us back home too. He was so sweet and nice. he even played with us," jungwook said as jungkook looked at them confused.

"Ajusshi? You two are out of control. What did I tell you about not talking to strangers? What if he kidnapped you guys, what will I do? You two are the only ones I have," jungkook bent down to both his kids and started sobbing.

"Dada, we are sorry. We won't do it again. We promise," they both looked at jungkook with a sad poy and wiped his tears away.

"How did he know where you guys live?" jungkook asked.

"we don't know," the 5-year-old replied.

"Did he say his name?" jungkook questioned further. the two boys nodded.

"I don't remember. He said something like ta- te-," Taemin tried to remember his name but couldn't.

"it's fine. Eat dinner and I'll put you guys to bed," jungkook said as he walked to the kitchen.

Bogum escorted the boys the table and sat them down. He then went to the kitchen and back hugged jungkook.

"I'm sorry! I should have been more careful," Bogum said.

"It's fine hyung. It wasn't your fault. And nothing happened to them which is a good sign."
