The Daughter of Fire and Ice

Chapter 10

||Just sayin' guys, this is my favorite scene, and was my favorite to write, so I hope you enjoy||

 When I get back to my room Mal is there.

"Enjoy your... DATE?" she gags on the last word.

"No, of course not," I say defiantly, "I'm NOT some Auradon poster girl."

She rolls her eyes and goes back to reading her mum's spell book. I just roll my eyes and get ready for bed. Once I'm ready I lay down and start thinking back to when I lived in Auradon, life was so much easier back then. Jane, Ben, Mum. A single tear flows down my face and I wipe it up hastily hoping Mal didn't see, luckily, she didn't.

"Children excuse me," Fairy Godmother addresses us. "Um, as you know, uh this Sunday is family day here at Auradon prep. And because your parents can't be here due to, uh, distance we've arranged for a special treat." She finishes setting up a TV and waves us up to it.

"I can't see anything, nor can I hear," Maleficent says with her face close-up to the screen. I scrunch up my nose.

I zone out while the others talk to their parents, my dad isn't there, I sigh, of course he isn't. Jay closes the screen and is thanking Fairy Godmother as I grab my shoulder bag and run out.

I run across the grounds until I reach a tree at the edge of the school. I drop my bag at the bottom of the tree, glad I wore leather pants today. I grab a branch and pull myself up into the tree. I climb up a few more branches and sit down. I grab out my earphones and get comfortable.

An hour or two later Ben comes up to the tree shouting something. I remove my earphones.

"Hey Ellz," He says smiling.

"Hey Benny," I attempt to smile.

"Are you okay?" he asks

"Yeah, I'm fine," I say with a sigh.

"Wanna come down and maybe go somewhere?" he blushes.

I shrug. I jump down to the second lowest branch. I sit down then lay turning, I swing round the branch like a gymnast and flip off landing perfectly.

Ben claps when I land, and I bow.

I grab my bag and place it on my shoulder. Ben grabs my hand and we walk around the grounds talking.

"My father didn't want to talk to me, he doesn't care about me," I tell Ben. I look down.

Ben moves my chin up, "my father doesn't believe I'm doing the right thing, he doesn't trust my judgement, or anyone's for that matter."

We look into each other's eyes.

ELLIE! Harry! HELLO!

Luckily Evie came, "El, do you have minute?"

"Uh, yeah sure. Bye Ben," I say walking away with Evie.

She starts talking about how Doug saved her grade and her mirror. Phew, we don't want a strong weapon handed over to the "good" guys, now do we?

We go to our room and get ready for bed. I'm lying down trying to sleep when I remember it's family day tomorrow, and I have nothing to wear.

I race out of bed and go to Evie's side of the room, I look for a roll of material and some thread. I put my palm out and create an ice dummy that's my size. I get to work designing a dress fit for a future queen.

The top part of the dress is pale blue. Then the skirt is a light blue and the shades get darker as the layers progress. It comes just below my knee. I find my belt that has a big snowflake at the front and my knee-high boots and my outfits complete.

The job completed, I fall on the bed and go to sleep.
