The Daughter of Fire and Ice

Chapter 6

Mal has apparently appointed herself leader because she starts talking about some massive plan that I know won't work, she clearly has no clue how Auradon works.

"Do you know where the wand even is?" I ask innocently

"Evie check your mirror," she says trying to ignore me.

"Mirror, Mirror on the... in my hand, where does the Fairy Godmother's wand... stand," she asks the mirror.

"Get it to zoom out," Carlos said.

"Magic mirror, not so close," Evie tells it. The mirror just zooms out to the size of the Earth. "Closer...CLOSER...CLOSER!" of course the mirror is a facetious little brat!

"I KNOW WHERE IT IS!!!" I shout getting seriously annoyed by the mirror. "Museum of history which is about three miles from here."

"WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT?" Mal shouted at me.

"BECAUSE YOUR PRETENDING I DON'T EXIST!" I shout back

I walk out the door and start heading to the museum, I hear the other VK's behind me. We walk all the way to the museum and a guard is sat with his back to the door and looks half asleep.

"He must be good at his job," I mutter sarcastically and Jay and Carlos laugh.

Mal does some magic and the guard falls asleep. Then she reaches for the handle and... it's locked.

"Move," I say. She doesn't until Evie pulls her away.

"Ladies, I will handle this," Jay says, in the coolest voice he can.

"DON'T!" I scream, "I got this." I raise my hand to the doorknob and stretch my hand, so my palm is flat. Ice shoots out of my hand onto the doorknob, I twist it and it opens. I clear away the ice and fix the doorknob, so no-one suspects anything. We run up the staircase, I haven't been here since the accident. When the other VK's look at the statues of their parents, I look at the spot that I almost murdered someone and bite my lip in fear. Jay is the first one to get over seeing his father's statue.

"Well, it's not here," Jay whispers. He clears his throat, "come on, let's go guys."

Everyone except me leaves the room. I'm stood there, for what feels like forever replaying the incident. This guy Chad, teasing a girl called Jane and me being her best friend I came in and defended her, but he kept going and I lost control. I felt so angry that I couldn't comprehend what I was doing until it was done.

I was brought back to reality by Jay, he was shaking my shoulder and calling my name. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in close. I hugged him tighter, trying to shake the moment from my head, trying as hard as I could to forget.

We walk all the way to where the others are hand in hand and before we walk in he drops it. He races down the stairs to where the wand stands. He attempts to grab the wand but sets of the security alarms. We run out the building trying to avoid the now awakened security guard.

"Great Jay, now we gotta go to school tomorrow," Mal shouts furiously at Jay.
