Alternate Ending

3 years later

Wanda's POV:

It's been three years since Sunny died. I still think about her all the time. I even break down now and then. But I've grown stronger. Life goes on and I'm happy. Things have changed dramatically. Turns out Michael was behind all the deaths he threatened a few of the others to kill Sunny. He was going insane and had conspiracy theories written up in his room. Someone found them turned him in and now he's locked up. That put many of us at peace. But that's not the only thing that's changed.

Jared and I are still good friends. He helps out with Hope as much as he can. He finally married Melanie once he realized what he wanted all along. Melanie was having a hard time because she had lost two of the children she was carrying. But eventually a miracle happened and a child was found wandering alone without a family. They brought him in and Jared and Mel call him their own.

As for my little one she's doing wonderful.

She's gotten so big. It seems like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms. Now she barely wants to stay kept up in our room.

She's going to be a wild one.

I was brought out of my thoughts.

"Honey, has Hope bathed today?" Ian asked.

"Yup. This morning while you were working."

"Hey, I love you. Never forget it." Ian said causing my heart to flutter.

"I love you too. Always."

Ian and I had our struggles but we broke through. He was all was gentle with me. He made me feel safe and secure. Ian will be my forever, however long that may be.

Ian was my first love. He still is my first love. He saw me as me when no else did. Of course he didn't at first but once he did. We were done for.

As for Kyle, he spent his days working. He rarely talks to most people. But He found a love for Hope. When he takes hope to play and out for some fresh air, you can see the twinkle in his eye like he did with Sunny. He wasn't completely lost. Inside that iron body was a heart of gold. Kyle was going to be alright.

Jamie and Jeb spend a lot of time together. Jamie admires Jeb. He's most likely going to follow in his footsteps

For everybody else.,they seem to be doing okay.

Life will never be normal. But we're alive. And we're fighting every day. The resistance is strong. And although we may never win. The human population will not go extinct. And as I'm sitting staring at glow worms where Jamie first took me, I realized that I'm lucky and incredibly happy. And we'll be okay. We'll always be okay.

"It's a strange world we live in Wanda."

Ian said coming up behind me.

"The strangest."
