Chapter 12: complicated

Jared's POV:

I've been thinking about these past few days a lot. I loved Melanie and I know I can't love Wanda. She's engaged and all I want is to see her happy. Then there's Melanie. We have an inseparable love. The baby just grows us closer. I know one day I want to make her Mrs. Howe, but right now I don't wanna put the stress of a wedding on her. Plus we have seekers on our case.

Things have been too quiet around here. Something's going to happen soon. I'm just preparing for the worst.

Melanie's POV:

I haven't felt Morning sickness. Jared wants me to take it easy but I feel fine. Wanda and I have been spending alot of time today. We're planning her wedding. She wants something simple. She's happy and seeing her happy makes everyone happy. Wanda always cares about other before her and this is her chance to think about her. My lower abode men has been hurting for a couple of hours.

All of a sudden, I got my period.

I'm not pregnant. But Everyone still thinks I am. How am I going to tell Jared? He was excited. The one person I can trust is Wanda. I need to talk to her.

Wanda's POV:

I went to work as usual. Things have been normal lately. And quiet. Very quiet. Ian and I are planning our wedding. I don't want anything fancy, just plain but elegant at the same time.

Mel walked in and looked worried.

" Melanie are you ok?" I asked

" Umm, no I'm not. Wanda I had my period. I'm not pregnant." Mel wasn't pregnant.

" Have you told anyone else?"

" No, and I wanna keep it that way until I figure things out." She said.

Jeb's POV:

Seekers know we're out here. They won't stop until they find us. As the leader here I need to think what's best for them. One of the resistance groups we ran into on a raid told us we could go to there hideout anytime. We aren't going to live if we just stayed here and fought. We have to move.

" Jared, get Kyle and Ian and get everyone into the kitchen."

I made my way to the kitchen where people piled in.

" everyone settle down. Now it's come to my attention we have been found out by seekers. I've thought of different scenarios in my head of what we could do. We could stay here and fight them out but they outnumber us. There's only one thing we have to do. We have to move. It's what's in the best interest of everyone's lives. One of the resistance groups offered us a place to stay. It's in El Paso, Texas. We leave tomorrow before sunrise. Be ready to leave by tonight so you don't have to rush early tomorrow. This meeting is finished."

So how was it? I knew all along that Melanie wouldn't really be pregnant.

Wait until Jared finds out.

Plus they're leaving the cave! I guess Wanda and Ian have to put a hold on the wedding.
