The Dance

(Friday)

Star walked downstairs carrying her backpack.

"Good morning sweetheart." Her mom said when she spotted Star.

"Hey Mom." Star replied sitting down.

She was in the middle of tying her shoe, when her mom put a plate with waffles in front of her.

"Thanks Mom." Star said finishing up on her shoe.

"You're welcome sweetheart. So are you going tonight?" Her mom replied and asked.

"To the dance?" Star questioned.

"Yeah." Mrs. Butterfly replied.

"Yeah." Star answered.

"Alright." She said walking away from her daughter.

(At school)

"So you're going tonight?" Janna asked as they walked down the hallway.

"Yeah." Star answered.

"You want my mom to pick you up?" Janna asked.

"Sure." Star replied.

She walked over to her locker.

After she unlocked it she looked over and saw Oskar walking down the hallway. 

She rolled her eyes and continued looking through her locker.

"Hey Star." Oskar said walking over to them.

"She doesn't need to talk to you." Janna told him with an annoyed tone.

"Was I talking to you?" Oskar asked in an annoyed tone also and gave Janna an annoyed look.

"What do you want Oskar?!" Star asked slamming her locker.

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry about Marco. And I wanted to know if you wanted to go to the dance with me?" He told her and asked. 

"Why would I want to? Last time you stood me up." Star said. 

"Yeah, but I promise this time will be different." He told her.

"I don't know Oskar. We gotta go." Star said and took Janna's hand as they walked away.

"Star." Oskar said as they walked away.

(Later)

Star started walking home when Oskar caught up with her.

"Hey Star." Oskar said walking beside her.

"What Oskar?" Star asked still annoyed.

"Please go with me. I promise you I won't stand you up this time. Maybe if the night goes well we can be boyfriend and girlfriend again?" He suggested.

"Fine! But first, we aren't gonna date again. And two, this is your final chance." Star told him.

"Okay. I promise everything will be fine this time." He promised.

(A few hours later)

Star looked at her phone to see the text she got from Janna.

"I'm going now!" She called to her parents.

(At the dance)

Everyone was dancing to the loud music. 

Star and Janna walked over to then corner of the gym and sat on the bleachers.

"I don't see Oskar. You?" Star said and asked.

"Nope. I knew he was gonna do it again." Janna replied getting mad.
