* First book in the Hidden Series *
There are 2 ways to keep a secret.
One is by covering it all up. Pretending that another idea is the truth. Changing and twisting the original idea to protect yourself, change your identity. One example of this i...
I wake up at 8:30 and have a quick breakfast before meeting Jonah in the basement for some unknown reason as he had left a note on my door.
I sure hope he doesn't kill me
I walk down and find that the basement is actually...a..a shooting range.
" Here, you were good at fighting, but you need to know how to shoot too," He says while handing me the gun.
It was heavier that I expected, and that made it harder to hold. We spent the morning learning the correct stance, and since the gun didn't have any bullets, I pulled the trigger just to get used to it.
" Okay I think you'll be okay, let me show you how to fill your gun," He says, while doing on his gun as I copy.
Once I do that he tells me to shoot the target. " There will be a bit of a shock so hold tight because you could fall back," He instructs.
Jonah then holds my waist.
Jesus Christ.
I take a deep breath and lift the gun and try to aim it a bit, then I take another deep breath and pull the trigger.
As expected I do fall a bit, but Jonah was there to support me. I look up and surprisingly, I hit the outside of the board, but at least I hit it, maybe not a bullseye, but decent enough I guess.
" Well you hit it, and the more you shoot, the more stable you become, so I say let's keep practicing.
It was around 2 by the time we had finished and I had hit bullseye 3 times. Jonah finally lets me go and have lunch with him.
Also, Valentina has started going to some fancy private school that Jonah insisted on sending her to, which I was extremely grateful for.
" So...I don't even know anything about you," I say to Jonah. " Trying to turn this into a date Kitten?" He smirks.
Kitten
As much as I hate that nickname, the way it sends chills down my back makes me want to know how I would feel if he said Quinn...m
" I.uh...no!" I stutter. He just looks down at his plate.
Eventually we do start to ask questions about each other. So far I have learnt that: • His favourite colour is green, but he's starting to like hazel a lot. •He hates Macdonald's and Burger King, which was very offensive since when I was younger I loved them. • He likes kids, but he finds babies very annoying when they cry.
Those were the interesting things, but he also likes cars.
" So you like blue then huh?" He asks. " Yeah..." I say.
My favourite colour was purple, but when I saw Jonah's eyes I knew there was no turning back. I wish he thought the same about me, but we all don't get what we want.
Wait what?
Hell naw I don't like Jonah Hendrix.
Do I?
Afterwards, I talk to Zach for a bit, since I hardly know him and he seems to be good friends with Jonah.
He's definitely a player. Not my type whatsoever. He warned me about a couple of things, especially about some girl called Sabrina. Apparently she was out for Jonah, which is understandable because I don't know who wouldn't.
Ugh stop thinking like that!
At that moment Valentina walks in with one of the bodyguards and hugs me. " Hey Val, you're in a good mood," I laugh as she lets go. " Yeah! I made a friend!" She giggles. " What's her name?" I ask. " That's sexist to say it's a girl! It's actually a boy and his name is Micah!" She says with her hands on her hips. " Where did you learn the word sexist from?" I ask, like since when did 6 year olds know that? " Micah!" She grins.
I ship.
I probably shouldn't but okay.
" Can you help me with my homework?" She asks. " Sure, let's go to your room," I smile.
We make our way upstairs and she sets all of her school work on her desk. " Wow this is a lot for being in year 2( grade 1)," I say to myself mainly, as Valentina was writing.
" Actually I don't need your help, you can go," She says, while staring at her work.
That bossy child.
As I walk out I bump into Jonah. " I'm taking you to the warehouse, I'll meet you downstairs in 5," He says angrily.
I guess we're back to cold Jonah.
He walks off as I head in my room and wear something a bit more appropriate rather than a hoodie and shorts. I keep cringing at myself every time I think about before.
I wear black jeans, a black top and a leather jacket, just to fit into the whole 'I'm in a gang' thing.
I quickly run downstairs, trying to avoid the angry Jonah as much as possible. " Let's go," He says when coming and tilts his head towards the door.
I step outside and I underestimated how cold it actually was, but Jonah sits down in one of his Lamborghinis and I sit in the passenger seat.
" Hold on, I'm going to go fast," He says, a small smirk creeping on his face.
I'm screwed.

Fun Fact: Jonah was supposed to be a total player but then I decided that was wayyy too cliche so....( not that a cold gang leader isn't) ________________________________
